Boncoura’s ’66 straight lightly-tapered jeans are back. There is a lot we can say about these jeans.. IN THE (translated) WORDS OF HISASHI MORISHIMA, FOUNDER AND DESIGNER OF BONCOURA: “The 66 model was a pair of jeans that I was able to buy brand new at the time, and I wore them regularly. Vintage American denim pants from that era exhibit individual differences not only due to the variations related to their age. To put it positively, these differences add character, but negatively, they could be seen as a lack of precision in the stitching. Unlike our XX model, the 66 model features a slightly tapered silhouette, where even minor distinctions made a significant difference. From my experience of wearing hundreds of pairs, I drew inspiration for crafting the ideal model I wanted to wear, one that offered the cleanest silhouette irrespective of the specific model. While essentially following the details observed in the 66 model, I went the extra mile by creating numerous samples, particularly focusing on the silhouette when viewed from the back, especially aiming for a beautiful hip line. This meticulous process resulted in the creation of BONCOURA 66.”
