Have you ever forgotten to install the CS SofStop soft close/soft open activators in the back of your pocket door?

Here’s a hack to set the proper distance for your soft open activator after the fact. On 2x4 frames it may be harder to reach, but you can tighten the hex screws using an extended electric ratchet and hex socket. And it’s all made easy with our quick release carriages, service notch, and removable trim clips. No tearing through drywall required!

Specifying a pocket door for an ADA job? Watch your door width.

ADA needs 32” of clear walkthrough. But a pocket door can’t fully disappear into the wall — about 4” of the leaf has to stay exposed so the pull is reachable from both sides.

That’s why a 38” door beats a 36” for the opening. The extra width lets the leaf cover the pocket mouth more fully, so you don’t end up staring at gaps in the trim. Cleaner finish, and you keep your clearance.
