Everyone asks for the contractor’s number first. But….

It’s the wrong first call. By the time framing is up, the decisions that shape a room have already been made … by someone whose job was never to make them.

A contractor builds what’s drawn.
We decide what’s worth drawing.

Then we stay on site, because design intent doesn’t survive on paper alone.

Plans get printed.
Subs work from momentum.
Somebody has to hold the line.

Here’s what most people don’t know about our firm: you don’t have to choose.

Under one roof, we bring you full design services and direct relationships with licensed general contractors and trades.

One team.
One point of accountability.
No translating your vision across three companies and hoping it arrives intact.

Remodel or new build … designer first, and we’ll handle the rest.

We’re so excited to share that Amber Clore Morales | Interior Designer was recently featured on Yahoo Life, talking with Jessica Dodell-Feder about a design concept I think we’re going to be hearing a LOT more about: the unfitted kitchen.

So what exactly is an unfitted kitchen? Amber says….

“Think less “I ordered an entire kitchen from one cabinet line” and more “this space evolved, was collected, and actually belongs to the people who live here.”

Here in the U.S. (and especially in Orlando) we don’t see this nearly as much. We’re still heavily influenced by builder-basic design: matching cabinetry, matching finishes, maximizing resale, staying on trend, and making every decision at once.

But historically (and still throughout Europe) homes weren’t necessarily designed that way.

Furniture was collected.
Pieces were inherited.
A freestanding hutch might become kitchen storage.
An antique worktable could become an island.
Cabinetry didn’t necessarily match because it wasn’t all installed at the same time.

What we’re seeing now is a correction toward individuality and emotional connection, which ASID 2026 Trends Outlook identifies as a defining shift this year. Clients want spaces with real character and material story, not a look pulled off a shelf.

That’s part of what I love about the unfitted kitchen.

It gives us permission to stop designing for the latest perfectly styled magazine spread and start designing specifically for the person using the space.

Maybe your island looks like furniture.
Maybe you have a freestanding pantry cabinet.
Maybe your upper cabinetry doesn’t perfectly match your lowers.
Maybe you incorporate something vintage, inherited, or completely unexpected.

It’s not about making a kitchen look old.

It’s about making it look collected, personal, functional, and intentional.

You’ll see this beautifully in traditional homes, in historic homes, and all over Europe… and I think there’s something we can learn from it.

Fact: great design doesn’t always have to look like it was installed on Tuesday.”

At ACI, we believe the most beautiful spaces look like they took a lifetime to become what they are.

Eight slabs. One home. And somehow, they all needed to have the same beat. 🎶✨

Natural stone is one of the most beautiful materials we get to work with… but it’s also one of the biggest commitment moments in a home. No two slabs are exactly alike, and when you want creativity, color, movement AND cohesion, the decisions get real very quickly.

In one visit, we helped our clients envision their entire home and confidently select the slabs that will carry from space to space 🫶 each one different, but all coordinating like music.

Because this is where a designer’s eye really matters. It’s not just asking, “Do you like this slab?” It’s seeing the finished kitchen. The bathrooms. The cabinetry. The hardware. The lighting. The flooring. And knowing how every individual choice will eventually become one complete story.

And we couldn’t do it without incredible industry partners. We absolutely love our friends at UMI | Stone Wholesaler for helping us source beautiful materials, explore creative options, and make these big decisions feel a whole lot easier.

You can change a faucet. Swap hardware. Repaint cabinetry.

But countertops? They’re a commitment 💍 and often one of the biggest investments in a kitchen or bath.

So yes, they call us interior designers.

But some days? We’re really just glorified trigger pullers with excellent taste. 😂

And on this one… we PULLED. 👏🏼 THE. 👏🏼 TRIGGER. 👏🏼

The final result is going to be 🔥

Same footprint. A completely new point of view.

This kitchen wasn’t just updated 🫰🏼 it was reconsidered. From the cabinetry and finishes to the lighting, proportions, and details, every decision was made to create a space that feels elevated, intentional, and built for the way our clients actually live.

We believe a great renovation shouldn’t just make your home look different.

It should make it feel different.

Discover. Design. Deliver.

Small team. Big impact.

People often assume you need a huge team to do big things. We don’t buy into that… or the overhead.

More people doesn’t always mean more progress. Sometimes the best design happens with a small, mighty team that’s equipped with the right systems, clear communication, efficient processes, and a whole lot of talent.

Today it’s just Amber + Chloe, juggling job sites, client meetings, design details, vendor coordination, and about a hundred other things that happen behind the scenes.

Here’s to “It Takes Two” Tuesday 🖤 proof that with the right people, the right tools, and a shared vision, you can accomplish incredible things. 🤍

Let’s hear it for the rooms with no walls… 👏

The spaces without all four walls often work the hardest… and they deserve just as much intention as the rooms with a name.

This area sits between the dining room and the kitchen. Most people would simply call it the “living room,” but we saw an opportunity to create something far more purposeful. Instead of defaulting to a TV-centered layout, we reimagined it as a true conversation space 🖤 a place that invites people to slow down, connect, and stay awhile.

With sculptural seating, layered textures, mixed metals, and artwork that quietly commands attention, this room feels contemporary, classy, and confidently understated. It’s proof that bold design doesn’t always have to shout. Sometimes it whispers.

The best homes aren’t just designed room by room… they’re designed by how you move through them. Those in-between spaces? They deserve every bit of the love.

✨ Which space in your home is waiting to become more than just a pass-through?

We love today’s trends. They inspire us, push creativity forward, and keep design evolving.

But timeless design will always outlast trendy design.

In a world of fast fashion, fast furniture, and next-day delivery, it’s easy to forget that the best homes aren’t created overnight. Great design is intentional. Like our kitchen remodel…

It’s layered. It’s collected. It takes time.

Today’s “must-have” trend often becomes tomorrow’s outdated detail. The real art of interior design is knowing which trends deserve a place in your home… and which ones should simply inspire the direction.

That doesn’t mean we’re afraid of bold wallpaper, statement lighting, rich color, or unforgettable architectural details. Quite the opposite. We believe those moments should feel deeply personal, not driven by what’s currently filling your social feed.

The homes we love most are curated with purpose. They honor the architecture, embrace natural materials, reflect the people who live there, and feel just as beautiful ten years from now as they do today.

That’s the difference thoughtful design makes.

If you’re ready to create a home that feels timeless, personal, and unmistakably yours, we’d love to help.
