SALT jewelry studio, gift shop, gallery located in the courtyard at the tannery arts center. I began making things jewelry-related at an early age.

Growing up in Mill Valley in the 70's I frequented the Marin City Flea Market and found no shortage of cool junk and excellent people-watching. Fast forward to 1988. As an art school graduate with a BA in Sculpture I was hired into a position working with accessories designer David Navarro in San Francisco. I was an assistant to Mr. Navarro in his 3rd Street studio for 3 years and thoroughly enjoy

ed the exposure to the industry as well as to witness David's inspired creative process. Under David's guidance I was asked to create one of a kind pieces for his line Navarro Alternatives that were sold to Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue as well as small boutiques nationwide. David was a mentor who recognized my strengths and encouraged me to make things that were off-beat and distinctive. He showed me that it was worthwhile to take risks and important to tune in to customers. Fast forward to 2016. Today SALT california is a one-woman show; I design and make all of the pieces myself and I manage all aspects of the business. I have stayed in business for the past two decades because of my ability to think on my feet and my willingness to flex with the times. I sell to boutiques and gift shops across the country and... I love what I do!

Another Tannery Winter Art Market for the books! The mood was bright and it was so good to see so many familiar faces. I was so busy in the store I didn’t take photos of any other vendors or activities, but I do know there was a lot going on. ❤️ Thank you to everyone who made it out to support our community and my shop.
