My mom Eloisa Block and my self Jovanna
Block Whitehead at my mom’s 89th Birthday celebration. She passed away a year later in 2021. She was an amazing godly woman. She grew up poor, lost her dad when she was 13 years old. Her mom then moved all 6 children from Puerto de Luna (near Santa Rosa, NM) to SFe. Spanish was her first language and she was shamed for not speaking English when she started school.
After High School she learned secretarial skills. She ended up becoming Governor Bruce King’s secretary and retired from the Legislature after 57 years. She married my dad in 1954 and had 5 children. She was dearly loved by us all.
