Taylor Swift in 1944? That’s the first thing we thought when we saw two of these pictures painted by Alberto Vargas. Vargas was a Peruvian-American painter of pinup girls and is credited with keeping up the troops’ morale during World War II. These two books chronicling major eras his career are in Jane’s space. Much of his work was featured in Esquire Magazine during World War II.
