We’ve had a lot of young visitors at the studio this summer. If their legs are long enough and they’re game, we let them try the looms. They love the noise, the rhythm, and especially slamming the be**er. Some of them even advise us on weft color choices 😂 (looking at you Gus!) During the school year, we host all ages- from our local pre-schools Community Roots School and Pre-K in the Park all the way up to fashion design students at the high school and art students from Skidmore College. So important to inspire our future artists and makers 🙌🎨🧶👏

Escaping the heat with a break at the lake… and getting a little work done! These guitar straps are 100% cotton woven style on this 1940’s vintage loom which is almost as old as this camp. They’re both a little creaky but still fully functional, as is the weaver 😂 Studio is closed till Thursday 7/16 and we’ll be back at the looms to welcome you to the Beekman Street Friday Art Market on the 17th. Our corner will be hopping with 8 artists and makers on the lawn, live music, summer drinks, and new handwoven pieces inside to show you. Stroll down Beekman from Washington to Oak Street, lots to see and hear and taste. Frederick Allen Lodge #609 is having a BBQ that evening also - dinner, drinks and shopping al fresco- we’ve got your Friday evening covered! 🎶🎸😎🙌

One of our customers from Saratoga Jazz Festival® presented by GE Vernova just sent this pic of his new purchase and wrote ‘thanks for the guitar strap. It handles my guitar perfectly. And feels as good as it looks’ 👍 Always nice to hear from a happy customer. Another fun sale happened Monday morning- after the show- when a couple who was eyeing this blue plaid shirt under our demo tent stopped at the studio on their way out of town and claimed it! An enjoyable weekend all around 🙏😎🎶🙌🙏

It was a long but productive weekend at Saratoga Jazz Festival® presented by GE Vernova 🙌☀️ 😎 A group of us makers from Beekman Street Arts District shared a large booth in the Art Tent, displayed and sold work and set up craft demos each afternoon alternating with Griffin, Meryl Davis and Rebecca Cigal. It was a diverse and enthusiastic crowd and we had a great time with our customers. In between breaks we heard some cool bands and got to catch The Revivalists before packing up.
