Every animal gets an ear tag when they arrive at the yard. This ear tag is used as an identifier if the animal needs to be treated for illness, given an implant, or sorted with the PenPoint sort system.

It's a shipping day here at Cattle Empire! Our team communicates with the customer so you always know when you have cattle shipping, what they sold for, and when they will be harvested.

Post-harvest, you'll also receive harvest data, so you can see what premiums/discounts your cattle received.

Loaders are a pretty versatile piece of equipment. But did you know that loaders that are used for making feed are ONLY used for making feed?

These loaders are clearly marked "FEED ONLY" to keep them as clean as possible and to prevent contamination with dirt, manure, etc.

In addition to constant visual inspection, we send feed to a lab regularly to make sure the corn is flaking correctly, and our feed inputs have the nutrients we need.

Ensuring consistent feed is one of the best ways to control digestive health in cattle! So the lab results give us good feedback is any changes or corrections need to be made.

Heat stress can be very detrimental to cattle, especially as they get bigger. In order to best care for cattle and their well-being, we actually change our processing hours in the summer!

Our processing team shifts their hours to early morning and stops at noon. This means we aren't moving cattle around the yard or through the chute during the heat of the day, and hopefully keeping them healthier.
