Judith Jamison (1943 - 2024) was a dance luminary who fiercely carried Alvin Ailey's vision forward and was instrumental in transforming AILEY into the most successful modern dance organization in America. She nurtured dancers and choreographers, secured AILEY’s permanent home, expanded outreach programs, and elevated the company to new heights. Ms. Jamison dedicated herself to building the AILEY we all know and love today.
