I have been very blessed with the majority of folks I have had the pleasure of being creative, to make their ideas a reality. Over 35 years of sewing and tailoring. This year has made me slow down, reevaluate what items, types of jobs I'm willing to get involved with. Not having the next generation willing to learn how to clean and repair sewing machines, sew from patterns, creating your own patterns for unique requests , tailor , mend, upholstery, shoe repair( so many avenues for a business)I have done them all at different stages. I will do classes on request and as you are comfortable to help you know your machines and do your mending , etc. before I choose to retire.
🤔Warning Rant--I have been soured on a few attitudes this year. - so please keep in mind for any business- When you say a certain time that you are coming- stick to it. Sometimes we put off eating, starting another project, taking that walk with your granddaughter waiting for you to come. Then calling 4 hours later saying you changed your mind and will wait till spring , or say 15 minutes and now it's 2 hours. Also, if on a very limited budget, say so, talk to me before hand. An estimate, is only as good as the products I can find. When I have to custom make the loops and string because your dress doesn't close by 5 " and is a unique color that no one has any ribbon close matching it, Don't tell me when I'm all done as a rush job that the $89 is more than you spent on dress and hand me the $65 you brought. 😳 At least I didn't take all the ribbon back out😁Done with rant. So if you see yourself doing any of these things- Don't, just be honest with your time and money with us businesses so we can do right by you and still enjoy what we do❣️
