Yes even Doggie rain coats need zippers or alterations. The zipper is in a larger size. The smaller on has had 2" added around the body. It is "fur" lined. On the inside the addition also has "fur" to cover the insert and match the rest of the lining.

Replaced knit cuffs on older wool jacket. The old cuff was removed. The sleeve lining had to be opened and the new cuff sewn in then closed up again.

Relining a college letter jacket for a customer. A little tricky because the leather sleeves were stiff with age. The knit cuffs and waist were in good shape just the lining was worn. Time consuming but the end result is great.

Don't give up on your luggage. They may be able to be fixed... Suitcase repair of lining that frayed out. Reattached to binding and zipper.

Happy Thanksgiving to all! I have so much for which to be grateful. The continued support of my sewing clients counts as just one of my blessings.
I want to let you all know I am indeed still sewing. There are rumors that I retired. Not sure if its good or bad, but NO I have not retired from sewing.

Santa was supposed to get his suit before Christmas, but things kept that from happening... He's all set for 2021! Also shown being Covid safe! Suit is made of red wool, lined with polyester satin, fur is cream color. Zipper front with Velcro closure, pockets for hidden goodies for girls and boys, pants are elastic waist. The commercial sewing pattern was altered for custom fit.

This customer has a beautiful dress too tight to get the zipper anywhere near closing. Solution, - fortunately it needed to be hemmed. Used 6" of cut off hem from outer embroidered fabric and from inner lining to make inserts for side seams. Not an easy fix but doable. Skirt had to be removed at waist and gathers opened out to give extra inches.
