CAST

CAST C.A.S.T. is an association for couples who love to participate in the sport of tournament bass fishing in Texas. CAST is not limited to only married couples.

CAST is a bass fishing tournament organization for couples with 9 regions all throughout Texas. Any male/female combination is welcome to join our association and fish as many tournaments as they wish, although you must designate which region you want your points counted towards. Upon completion of each region's 6 tournaments, the top 6 teams from each region are invited to compete as a team in Th

e Top 6 Tournament. The Top 6 is a unique format where all 6 teams teams from each region compete as a team against all other regions on a lake that is announced only 2 weeks prior to the event and is off-limits until the day before the tournament date. This event and it's format is popular among CAST couples for the simple fact it brings each region together as a team for one event. The Top 6 weekend is a fun filled event that kicks off with a banquet followed by a day of fishing with a lot of comradery throughout! Our Super Bowl of the year is The Classic held each year in October. Every year a different lake is chosen. Previous years' Classics have been held on Lake Amistad, Lake Texoma, Sam Rayburn, Lake Belton, Richland Chambers and other major lakes throughout Texas. The weekend starts on Friday with a banquet with door prizes for everyone, a catered meal and an awards ceremony for each regions' Angler Of The Year standings. Also included is a guest speaker from within the industry which is always the highlight of the evening. The likes of Brandon Palaniuk, Zell Rowland, Cliff Crochet and other fishing icons have been guests of CAST at The Classic. The evening culminates with a calcutta where all teams are auctioned off for a separate jackpot for the weekend. Finally, on Saturday, after an on-the-water prayer and National Anthem, the competition begins with a weigh in 8 hours later. Sunday morning begins the final day of competition with awards being handled out after the final teams weighs in. Everyone as CAST invites each and every couple that has an interest in bass fishing to come out and join us in one of our region tournaments. You'll not only have an opportunity to win some money while doing something you love, but you'll also make a lot of new friends!

Hope everyone is doing well. Sadly, the time has come for our 6th tourney of the season.

Lines out 3:00pm be in line by 3:30pm

We will be at ramp 5:00am-5:40am.

We are aware that there is another tournament with up to 15 boats also fishing. (We had no idea until last week)

We will be drawing for the Custom Rod by Lake Fork Tackle Shack and reel by Kistler Rods on Sunday June 7 after weigh-in for all that have fished all 6 tournaments.

Also, we are staying at Lake o’ the Pines RV & Marina. Please reach out if you want to meet somewhere to eat Saturday evening 6:30-7 pm.

Y’all come join us for the last tournament for NO FFS at Cedar Creek on 6/7!!

This will be a trailering event, we will not be checking live wells that morning but we will be checking to make sure the FFS transducer is detached from the black box - no exceptions. You will not be allowed to weigh your fish if your transducer was not checked that morning.

We will be at Log Cabin Boat Ramp from 5:00am to 5:45am. First Cast is at 6:00am and lines out will be at 3:00pm.

NO FFS RULE: No Live sonar will be allowed during tournament hours. 360 sonar is allowed. You must have your FFS disabled before boat check in the morning of the tournament. You will be responsible for disabling your own FFS. (ex: disconnecting ethernet from your black box, removal of bow unit used for FFS) FFS will be allowed during practice days but not during tournament hours. We will have random polygraphs and this will be a question.

REMINDER:
Tyler Ford will draw one lucky couple’s name from those who compete in all six tournaments plus the Classic. The selected couple will receive their 2027 tournament entries paid in full (a non-cash value of $840). This prize is non-transferable and has no cash value. Couples who compete in more than one region are only eligible to win once.

Chris and Rebecca Wright took the win with a weight of 13.97 anchored by Chris's Mens Big Bass of 4.16. Congratulations!

ArkTex Region Tourney Results on Martin Creek
After a windy day on Martin Creek, everyone came to the scales with 5 fish! At least the wind kept it from being so hot!
That was fantastic! We had 10 couples on Sunday.

Martin & Jill Sugg took home a bundle! Winning 1st place with 16.84 lbs., 1st plaque, check, and Jill won Overall and Ladies Big Bass with a 4.64 lber! AND Tyler Ford Bonus Money on top of their win!
Coming in 2nd place was Greg & Julie Fleming with 15.50 lbs. winning a 2nd place plaque and check
3rd place was David & Mary Ryne winning a 3rd place plaque and being one out of the money two pairs of Sunhauk Sunglasses!

Hubbard Creek was next on the agenda for the Hill Country today. Taking home the win was Bryan and Ginger Schimdt with their 5 fish limit of 16.44. Bryan also had overall Men's Big Bass with his 6.42. Congratulations!

Ladies Big Bass went to Wendy Hall with 5.90 which anchored their five fish limit for a 2nd Place finish with a weight of 11.04.
