Lesson 17 from Itās a Wonderful Life:
āDonāt wait to tell someone you careā
Six years ago today, my dad was taken from our home by ambulance after suffering a stroke.
Four weeks later, he passed away from a subacute stroke.
My dad and I were very close. We talked about everything⦠although honestly, I did most of the talking.
The last few months of his life, we spent every day together.
I would read Scripture to him.
We would watch TV together.
Sometimes we would just sit outside and nap.
There wasnāt anything my dad didnāt know. He knew much I loved and appreciated him!
And for that, Iām deeply grateful.
My dad was far from perfect, but he was perfectly imperfect to me.
This lesson reminded me how important it is to communicate while we still have the opportunity.
We only have so much time to tell people we love them.
Send the text.
Make the call.
Write the note.
Send the card.
Donāt wait until itās too late.
Ephesians 5:16 says:
āMake the most of every opportunity.ā
