Lesson 17 from It’s a Wonderful Life:
“Don’t wait to tell someone you care”

Six years ago today, my dad was taken from our home by ambulance after suffering a stroke.

Four weeks later, he passed away from a subacute stroke.

My dad and I were very close. We talked about everything… although honestly, I did most of the talking.

The last few months of his life, we spent every day together.

I would read Scripture to him.
We would watch TV together.
Sometimes we would just sit outside and nap.

There wasn’t anything my dad didn’t know. He knew much I loved and appreciated him!

And for that, I’m deeply grateful.

My dad was far from perfect, but he was perfectly imperfect to me.

This lesson reminded me how important it is to communicate while we still have the opportunity.

We only have so much time to tell people we love them.

Send the text.
Make the call.
Write the note.
Send the card.

Don’t wait until it’s too late.

Ephesians 5:16 says:
“Make the most of every opportunity.”

No amount of distance is too great between a mother and her daughters. 💞

This Mother’s Day I missed being with my girls as they live 5 states away. This photo is from my very first market — and having them there with me made it even more special.

I never set out to start a business. I was simply a SAHM walking my girls to school when one of them had a need, and I was determined to find a solution. That journey eventually became a company named after them.

To every mom out there — never underestimate the power of showing up with love and determination. The small moments, the hard work, and the care you pour into your family can grow into something beautiful.

I am so grateful for the technology that keeps us connected, and for the love, support, and encouragement they continue to give me every day. ☀️
Most of all, I’m grateful God chose me to be their mom!🙌🏻💞

Revel in the Accomplishments of Others. Lesson 16 out of 52

In It’s a Wonderful Life, George Bailey invested in people quietly, keeping the focus on the person receiving rather than the one giving.

That kind of kindness is rare.

Some of the ways we can shine our light onto others are:
Prayer.Love.Respect.

One of these moments was gifting MelinyWraps to nursing home residents through a nonprofit my brothers and I co-founded.

Not every good deed needs to be seen.

“But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

Turns out tomorrow will not be a good day to bring out the dogs. We so regret the cancellation of this event and want to thank so many for their support and enthusiam.

*****Sadly this event has been cancelled due to the rain and wind forecasted.

We are scheduled to be at this amazing event Saturday weather permitting.

Rain rain go away come again another day so we can get these cute pups adopted, support the shelter and have some fun in the process!
