The tools in this journal were given to me through my own experiences as a caregiver, and the experiences of others, and I was encouraged to share them so they might help someone else along their caregiving journey.

Sometimes moving forward means going back to where it began. 💙💛

This morning I shared a little piece of the MelinyLLC story from December 2020.

It was a dream I had carried with me for years—to create something simple that could help keep people warm. (It all started with my daughter, for my daughter)

After a lot of prayer, encouragement and some much-needed counseling, I decided to try again. And MelinyLLC began again.

Seeing this today reminded me why I started and, honestly, how easy it can be to make things more complicated than they need to be.

So maybe it’s time to get back to the basics.

Why did I begin?

To create simple comfort.
To care for others.
To use the gifts God gave me.
And to let my light shine. ✨

A lot has changed since December 2020. MelinyLLC has grown, I have grown, and somehow God even added a book to the journey. 📖

But the heart behind it hasn’t changed.

Faith. Care. Comfort. Connection.

So this is my reset. Not starting over, but remembering why I started in the first place.

Since June 24, I’ve become my husband Chris’ caregiver following his surgery. I’m so grateful to have one place to keep track of his doctor’s appointments, lab work, radiology scans, medications, and notes from every visit.

A Prayer of Gratitude - 10 Years Later.

Ten years ago, I made the decision to rededicate my life to Jesus.

This morning, I sat with my journal and simply talked to God. I wasn’t writing for anyone else to read. I was thanking Him for His faithfulness and reflecting on how much He has changed my life.

I prayed about whether I should even share these pages because my heart is not to build myself up. My prayer is that if my story points even one person to Jesus, then all the glory belongs to Him.

So, here’s a glimpse into my conversation with God.

“Lord, thank You for teaching me to trust You through the process. I don’t have to know all the answers because I already have You. You are good, righteous, worthy, strong, and eternal. You can do immeasurably more than I could ever ask or imagine.

Thank You for the joy, peace, love, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control You’ve continued to grow in me. I don’t live these out perfectly, but Your grace has carried me every step of the way.

You have sustained me through suffering, strengthened me in my weakness, and shown me that nothing is too difficult for You. You know the dreams You’ve placed in my heart, the ache for something beyond this broken world, and the deepest longings of my soul. You alone can fulfill them.

Thank You for entrusting me with the opportunity to share Your compassion and Your truth. I know I won’t do it perfectly, but I am willing. Keep my focus on You so that everything I do brings You glory.

There is no one like You, Jesus. You are worthy of all my honor and praise. Amen.”

Looking back over these last ten years, I don’t see a perfect journey. I see a perfect Savior who has been faithful through every season.

He truly makes all things new.

Some moments remind us what truly matters. 🤍

Today, my sister-in-love Liz Vink Costello donated platelets while wrapped in her Meliny Wrap. As a living kidney donor, her generosity continues to inspire me.

Caregiving is a journey.

It is a journey filled with love, responsibility, unexpected challenges, and moments that require more of us than we ever imagined. It asks us to manage appointments, medications, diagnoses, questions, and decisions while remaining present for someone we love. It is meaningful work, but it can also be overwhelming.

Called to Care: A Tool for Caregivers was created with you in mind.

Born from my own caregiving journey, the experiences of other caregivers, and the way God gently led me, this journal was created to bring connection, comfort, and encouragement to those who have accepted the responsibility of caring for another.

More than a place to organize medical information, this journal is a place to pause. A place to reflect. A place to write, pray, and process the journey one day at a time. It was created to help bring peace in the midst of uncertainty and steadiness when life feels overwhelming.

Inside, you’ll find practical tools to organize important medical information, space for journaling, encouraging Scriptures, uplifting song suggestions, caregiver resources, and room to make this journal your own.
