Yes I should have been open - honestly I feel like I slept 6 weeks of my life away. I got sick - thought it was appendicitis but apparently I AM TOO OLD for that as my nurse said we typically don’t see people your age with appendicitis ; usually they are younger. I told her you just called me OLD without calling me ANCIENT🤭 So since I was too old for that they diagnose me with something that children & teenagers usually get. Don’t ask me to name it. I had to look it up. Basically swollen lymph nodes in right side and something else gooey in there was too. After serious antibiotics- more sleep than I have done in my entire life I am getting back at it. I had so many cute Halloween things already out for sale. Boxes them up & let’s get going on Thanksgiving. I am grateful to be able to have that beautiful building my parents built. I am grateful for God reminding me it is “On HIS time” and I am grateful for family -Mom & Robin - that reminded me daily… let yourself heal. You aren’t well yet. And I am extremely grateful for lifelong friends Janean, who called me to try to bring me anything i might need. In other words I am not a good patient or a friendly sick person 🤷‍♀️🤫𝘐 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘮𝘺 𝘔𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘢- Janey. I am sorry for the mess and yes it does look like Sanford & Son. I know that! I will get back to it. I am thankful for all of you for following and understanding- and believe me I am ready to open those doors!

Make sure to stop by and see this beloved potter. Not only does he turn there are some of us in the community that had the joy of being his student when we were in high school. And yes he was one of the nicest teachers and still takes time out for the teenage kids whose lives he helped shape!!

Mom & Dad loved this event. While it was and is fast paced it brought a lot of familiar faces back in the door every year. Their customers always brought gifts and left imprints in their lives. So many memories and so much love and friendship were woven together in that building. While potters faves have changed and many of the original pottery families have lost their elders- John McNeill (my Dad) being one of them. There are so many more & different styles and new & upcoming potters that have taken spots to make these same memories. Now it is my generation- the kids that grew up in the area and witnessed the making and history that are considered elders and strive to keep the traditions and foundations strong. We continue to support and promote these events. During this weekend we stand back and enjoy repeat customers and enjoy making new friends and seeing the faces of our community, neighbors and visitors making new memories . Please have patience with traffic we are still a sleepy little rural community but sometimes the influx of vehicles frustrated new and old drivers and well just remember we want you safe and returning year after year!! We are so excited to continue the Friday Night Gala this year! Gala ticket holders have the opportunity to shop early with exclusive entry to the Preview Pottery Show. Enjoy a catered reception including festive drinks, followed by a live auction featuring special collaboration pieces made by Seagrove potters working together.

The self-guided Studio Tour is free to attend! Maps of participating shops can be picked up at the Luck Comer Lail Center. You do not have to purchase admission to the Show to pick up a map.

Changed some things today- worked outdoors. It is coming together. I am so excited to be getting the store open!! Still need to hijack a chainsaw- have some limbs to trim back. I may just buy one because it’s hard to find someone to do small jobs!

Today we are outside with Mom. Since there are metal monsters not far away & they fascinate us we have to be kenneled while we are outside with her. We are not happy with her - she is a mean girl today. 🐕🐶

Our little store is right in the middle of all these great places mentioned! We do have some of Old Hard Times Pottery left to sell but it is not a lot. Our store is a different sort of experience that you’ll just have to see for yourself!!

Everyone As Summer season kicks in, remember it is sea turtle nesting season on our coastline. If you are headed to the coast please look out for these nest. If you find one please report it to the local authorities so it can be marked for protection! Please don’t disturb the nest as our sea friends are becoming endangered!!
