Meet Sophia Trinh, a Vietnamese American watercolor artist from Seattle. She was first introduced to watercolors at the age of four while attending the Seattle Waldorf School. Drawing on her early experiences with wet-on-wet watercolor painting, Sophia uses white space to create a meditative, contemplative quality in her work, inviting viewers to connect with the natural world in a visual way.
Sophia’s passion for art has led her to showcase her work as a featured artist at the Refuge OutDoor Festival, present at the SHUNPIKE Artists of Color Expo and Symposium, and serve as a finalist judge for Amazon’s Artist in Residence Program. Currently, she teaches watercolor classes out of her art studio on Capitol Hill and is enjoying being a mentor for new artists through the Friends of Little Saigon Incubation Program.
As an artist and teacher, Sophia is committed to supporting others in their creativity and helping them express themselves through art. By sharing her paintings with the world and teaching others the techniques she has developed, Sophia hopes to help individuals connect with their inner selves and find a sense of healing and personal growth through the creative process. We are thrilled to bring her work to Sairen, where her watercolor prints, linocuts, and waterproof stickers will be available.
