The kitchen is my creative sanctuary. Not because I'm a chef (I'm really not 😅), but because when I'm cooking, something shifts. The ideas flow. The stress melts. The creativity returns, the focus tomorrow is set. This photo was from my recent trip to Italy, even when cooking in someone else's kitchen the ideas can still flow 🍳

One of the fun parts of sweater knitting is seeing all the little details come together. Some knitters love choosing colors, others enjoy watching the yoke take shape, and some can't wait to finish the sleeves and try everything on.

A sweater becomes meaningful long before the last stitch is finished.

It's built in the small moments: choosing the yarn, working through a new technique, adjusting for fit, blocking the finished fabric, and watching the sweater take shape one row at a time.

Every project carries the time, care, and learning that went into making it. That's part of what makes handmade sweaters so special—they tell a story long before they're ever worn.

When we begin to understand why stitches behave the way they do, we become more confident knitters. We stop simply following instructions and start building a deeper understanding of fabric, fit, and construction.

staple length, crimp, luster, and micron.

Synthetic yarn isn’t bad. It’s just different.
When you understand how it behaves, it becomes much easier to choose when it fits your project, and when something else might feel better.
Synthetic yarn can be great for durability, affordability, and easy care. But it can also feel less breathable and respond differently when you’re shaping or blocking a garment. None of that is right or wrong. It just means your yarn choice can support (or work against) what you’re trying to make.
When you start matching fiber to the needs of your project, your finished pieces often:
➡️ feel better to wear
➡️hold their shape more predictably
➡️ become sweaters you reach for again and again
