Hello, friends. If you've been following my account for a while, you know that I often post beautiful pictures of nature. The majority of those are taken in Lincoln Park, West Seattle. Today I learned the city plans on paving over a large section of the park to install pickleball courts.

This is a disastrous and unnecessary action. There has been no environmental impact study and no public notice or comment period. The area has myriad tennis courts and dog parks already. The last 2 photos in this post are of the tennis court across the street from Lincoln Park, which had half of its courts available on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon (prime pickleball time) and exactly zero pickleball players. West Seattle has myriad tennis courts and dog parks already in existence. There's absolutely no need to destroy vibrant forests in the city to accommodate a fitness fad, and plenty of people enjoy the park with their dogs daily.

If you're a local, please sign the petition, and for bonus points, make some noise with our elected officials.

Hey there friendlings! Any of y'all out there whom I love and trust* want to go to with me Sept 6-10 ✨️FOR FREE**✨️?!?!

Your transportation and camping are on me. If you need to borrow camping supplies, I gotchew. Meals, etc. are up to you, though I will be bringing snacks to share. And good coffee!

**okay, not exactly free. You'd be my booth bunny. Duties required: assistance setting up & taking down my booth (approx 2 hours); spend at least 3-4 hours alone in the booth per day of event being helpful & charming, perhaps even beguiling***; HAVING A FU***NG BLAST at a brilliant and ultra high-vibe music and arts festival in local Cascadian paradise. Pretty great deal, no?

***I absolutely plan for both of us to have fun at this event! We can absolutely look at the schedule of events and arrange our coverage schedule according to it.

*this is the biggie! If you read, "someone whom I love and trust" and though, "Hey! That describes me!" and you want to be my booth bunny, please HMU!
