An old mentor once said: Allow yourself to be in a position to be moved. Be open to the miraculous. Let your self remain soft in the tender spaces within your body. Something’s at the shop I carry not knowing if they will sell. Today a teacher from Virginia came in. He has Afghan refugees in his class kids 7-10 years old. He told me there are no translators for them. Their parents don’t speak English. So he’s been teaching himself Farsi / Dari so he can help them feel welcome and navigate a system that can sometimes be cruel. So he picked these lingo cards up from my shop along with this sticker one for himself and one for his students. I was so moved by his grace, generosity and kindness. Was a good reminder. The kindness of strangers has saved me. Reminded me to stay open. Stay human.
