Marakesh Leather specializes in handcrafted, custom-fit leather products in the heart of Seattle's Pike Place Market. Marakesh Leather began in 1971 as an offshoot of California's infamous Yoga Society, a group steeped in the idea of work as service. Having found the Market in disrepair and nearly deserted, we became part of a group of artists dedicated to recognizing and saving the Market's charm

s for future generations. To this day local artists preserve the "Meet the Producer" ethic which has guided Market business for over 80 years. Marakesh has flourished in this tradition. The actual name is borrowed respectfully from the CS & N song "Marrakech Express". Marrakech in Morroco has long been a colorful crossroads of commerce and ideas. The Pike Place Market as such is Seattle's vibrant crossroad. Our business has been built upon our love for the atmosphere of the Market and our dedication to the tradition of hard work, individuality and creative expression through craftsmanship. From the beginning, Marakesh Leather has strived to produce the best quality custom fitted leather goods as well as the most unique styles and designs, all the while maintaining reasonable prices. Our belt designs and color combinations are something that cannot be found anywhere else and we take a great amount of pride in the quality and originality of our craftsmanship. Today we have customers returning yearly for gifts or coming back fifteen years later to find the quality they can't seem to find elsewhere.

If you’re a lover of leather, is definitely a spot to check out. They sell all the tools, hardware, hides and even offer awesome and affordable leather classes at their shop on Aurora Ave in North Seattle.

We’ve been sourcing from Tandy for decades and highly recommend them! They have a great team of people, are always playing good tunes in-store and offer quality products galore!

A total flower~power kind of day down here ! On the first day of spring, free daffodils are given away to market visitors. We’ve always loved this tradition and it inspired us to cut some fresh leather flowers and craft some floral leather goodies for the season at hand.
