Our July 14 club luncheon features a report from Greg MacKenzie on the recent Guatemala service trip. In May 2026, a team of West Seattle Rotary members and friends traveled to Blanca Flor, a village in Guatemala, to help install rainwater retention tanks, guaranteeing clean water for 120 households. Greg led this amazing project, raising the money to purchase supplies in-country (special thanks to The Rotary Foundation at Rotary International for their matching grant), coordinating with community partners at Hands for Peacemaking Foundation, installing tanks on platforms, and supporting a community clinic. Don't miss Greg's presentation!

Got fruit? We would love to harvest it for donation to the West Seattle Food Bank and White Center Food Bank, who will give it to neighbors in need. If you have apples, pears, plums, quince, or grapes that may be ripe on August 16 or on September 13, sign up! We'll do the picking and hauling. See details in Comments below.

Just a reminder about our club luncheon tomorrow with guest presenter Clay Eals!

Our special guest at the July 7 club luncheon is Clay Eals, West Seattle journalist, historian, book author, and heritage activist. You may know him as a "Now & Then" columnist in the Seattle Times, as a former editor of the West Seattle Herald, as the editor of the "West Side Story" history book, or as former director of the Southwest Seattle Historical Society (think Log House Museum). If you don't know Clay, well, he knows A LOT about West Seattle! Join us for what's sure to be a great presentation.
