McKenzie Campbell Davies, who leads member engagement for The Mountaineers, is our special guest at our club luncheon on Tuesday, Sept. 15. McKenzie will trace 120 years of Mountaineers history, from the club's 1906 founding to today; describe the organization's current mission priorities, including improving access to the outdoors and conserving public lands, and share concrete ways to get involved. Join us!

Today we celebrated yet another Paul Harris Fellow award for Teri Templin (left). Teri, her husband, and other family members hold multiple fellowships. At today's club luncheon, Rotary District 5030 Governor Patricia Chapman shared her framework for the 2026-2027 Rotary year and then presented Rotary Club of West Seattle member Keith Hughes with a "Create Lasting Impact" award for his service running the West Seattle Parade, installing Peace Poles, and running the West Seattle overnight shelter as well as involvement in environmental sustainability and emergency preparedness. Thank you, DG Patricia, and kudos and congrats to Keith!

ICYMI, Patricia Chapman is our special guest tomorrow. She is a dedicated community
leader, pageant alumna, and long-standing
philanthropist who serves as the Rotary District
5030 District Governor for the 2026–2027 term. She has been an active Rotarian since 2005. She is a member and Past President of the neighboring Rotary Club of Duvall. In June 2025, she and her husband, Mike Chapman, were inducted into the Arch Klumph Society (Chair's Circle). This elite recognition honors individuals who have made substantial lifetime financial contributions to the international Rotary Foundation.

Thanks to Alki Arts in West Seattle, our club members and guests expanded their artistic horizons at a pre-opening show of "A Touch of Architecture.” Artists Jay Lazerwitz and Garreth Shuh discussed their work as we enjoyed art, camaraderie, beverages, and snacks. Appreciation goes to member Brian Waid for organizing.

Dr. Nick Cowan was our club luncheon speaker on Tuesday, Sept. 1. Dr. Cowan is a board certified urologist and transplant surgeon specializing in kidney transplant, kidney cancer, kidney stones, and laparoscopic and robotic urologic surgery. What a fascinating topic!
