Fresh shapes, beautiful straws, playful colour and plenty of millinery magic are coming together — perfect for garden parties, summer weddings, race days and all those special occasions that call for a little something fabulous.

Every now and then, a truly extraordinary commission lands on my workbench.

One of my wonderfully eccentric clients dreams up every hat down to the finest detail, then entrusts me with bringing her vision to life. This bespoke toque is a perfect example.

Finished with glowing hessonite garnets, waist-length vintage veiling that trails with dramatic elegance, and ruffed grouse wings accented by a treasured gold eagle charm supplied by my client, every element tells part of her story.

Collaborations like these are a reminder that millinery is more than making hats—it's transforming imagination into something beautifully wearable. It is always a privilege to help bring such unique creations to life.

There's something truly special about preserving a piece of family history. ❤️

This beautiful 1960s fascinator belonged to Tracy's grandmother and holds decades of treasured memories. When Tracy chose to wear it for her wedding, her mother, Jane, brought it to us at Ballard Millinery Studio for a careful repair and refresh.

It was an absolute privilege to restore this precious heirloom so it could become part of another generation's story. Knowing that Tracy walked down the aisle wearing her grandmother's fascinator is exactly why we love what we do.

Thank you, Jane and Tracy, for trusting us with such a meaningful piece. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness—and we're delighted to have another happy customer!
