Hi everyone, including the almost 2000 new followers since we recently announced the Call for Art for our upcoming September exhibit 'this is a show about grief' (incredible and telling, and I see you) 🖤

A quick intro to the human behind the Ghost curtain - I'm Laurie, I've lived in Seattle since 2005 (Capitol Hill the whole time 🙌🏻) after moving here from Richmond, VA which still holds a dear place in my heart. I started Ghost as a pop-up art exhibit project in 2006 and it has steadily evolved and morphed and surprised me since.
I work a lot, so you'll also see me crowing about an incredible local nonprofit called Mainstay, where we help find meaningful employment for job seekers with disabilities. It's an amazing program that empowers our community members so please check it out.
I'm also involved in Capitol Hill Art Walk and the music industry (post goth here), having done PR with Riot Act Media for years, and I proudly sit on the Board for the The Vera Project! I take breaks and sleep don't worry.

Happy to be connected to you. As challenges and battles and flooded zones mount, we're in all of it together and we're stronger than we may think. Hope to see you soon!

'this is a show about grief' opens Friday, Sept. 11th 5-9pm and is looking to feature 100's of artists showing with us both in-house and online. Submissions are absolutely POURING in so I have my work cut out for me! What an incredible response so far, thank you to everyone who's been sharing the call and reaching out with amazing art, questions and community.

Wanted to share this beautiful piece from Seattle-based artist Ben Beres Ben Beres WHAT DO I DO marbled monoprint, 11"x15", which will be included in the show.
