NEWBIE ALERT!!

Meet Fred. This sweet boy was picked up as a stray by a local shelter. He appears to be a Terrier mix. He’s a little timid but very sweet. He’s at our vet now getting fully vetted and then will be off to his foster home to get settled in. He’s around 2 years old and 20 lbs. He’s great with other animals and is a total lovebug once he’s settled. We will post updated info once he’s in his foster home!

All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!

Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundasble $50 deposit. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up.

Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. We also have full-time jobs and Families. We will try to answer all questions and applications in a timely manner. Please be patient and bear with us . Say hello to Ellie! Ellie is a 2-year-old Husky mix. She weighs 37 pounds, and in typical Husky fashion, is quite vocal. Ellie is heartworm positive, but we have started her on treatment here at the shelter. Her discounted $40 adoption fee covers her spay, vaccines, wormer, and a microchip!

UPDATE!!

Back in December a super pregnant momma dog was picked up and taken to the shelter. She gave birth just days later to 7 little beautiful babies. We learned about them a few days after their birth and thankfully had an amazing foster step up. 3 have been reserved already but these 4 previous babies are still looking for their forever homes. Their mom is a precious terrier mix around 25 lbs but their dad is unknown. Our guess is they will be small to medium sized adults around the same weight as their mom, give or take a few. They are all super playful and sweet. They have been very well socialized with all animals, children and people. They don’t meet a stranger. They will be 9 weeks old Saturday and are around 5-7 lbs and will be ready for their forever homes TODAY (2/16/22) after their second round of vaccines and they are altered. Don’t miss out on these little sweethearts.

ADOPTED!!

This beautiful girl is Allie! Allie was surrendered to us from a farm because she did not have any manners with the goats. Allie has spent her whole life outdoors until coming to us. She is very slowly adjusting to coming inside. She definitely prefers the outdoors and the sunshine. Allie is very friendly. She loves people and children. She is nearly 100 pounds so older children may be best but she has done well with all ages. Allie does well with other dogs. She would do best with dogs her size. Small active dogs she will herd. Allie will be seeing our vet this week and getting a full work up and spay. She is 10 months old, a purebred Great Pyrenees and a truly wonderful girl. Get your apps in now and don’t miss out on this beauty.
