A Coat of Many Colors. 🌈🧵❤️

There was no question what we wanted painted on our window.

In a town that will always have a special place in its heart for Dolly, we wanted to honor her with something that felt a little closer to home. Her famous coat, made by her mama from pieces of fabric, has become part of the story of the little girl from Sevierville who grew up to mean so much to so many.

And here at The Cherry Pit, surrounded by fabric, quilting and the tradition of making something beautiful from little pieces, a Coat of Many Colors felt just right.

This one is for Dolly. ❤️

Our hearts are heavy here in Sevierville as we remember our hometown girl, Dolly Parton. ❤️

Dolly never forgot where she came from, and her love for her home, her family and the people of East Tennessee was woven into everything she did.

We’re grateful for the legacy she leaves behind and proud that we got to call her one of our own. She will be deeply missed.

We’re so grateful for everyone who visits, shares our love of quilting, and makes The Cherry Pit part of their journey through the Smokies! 🧵❤️

In downtown Sevierville, Tennessee, there's a fabric shop that looks tiny from the sidewalk but keeps quilters crossing state lines just to walk its shelves and swap stories with the staff. The ones who know don't just pass through the Smokies - they build the whole trip around this one little stop.
