Somehow we’re sneaking into week two at the MN Ren Fest already so a little sneak peak at what’s new for you. Lucets and nals are back for those who’ve been asking, and the Yarn Shop’s amazing friends at the Viking Encampment will show you how to use them if you’re new to either. If you saw my cool braided rope belt last weekend, the first historicalish braiding kit to make your own is here! Obviously I added a Nerd Note to the directions so you can take your newfound braiding skills and make some ridiculously tiny accurate trim for your garb.

There’s a big pile of new handspun on the way and some fiber for spinners lined up.

It so lovely to be back - it always feels like coming home to have live music popping up everywhere and seeing my seasonal friends and meeting the amazing Phillip the lampshade dragon puppet and spotting a magical glittering dandelion staff coming to life in every spot of sunlight and every other little bit of chaos. Thank you to everyone who popped by during the first weekend, I couldn’t be out there without you.

I just lost at yarn chicken but I’m calling it close enough on this little one skein sample crochet… fiber dyed by the amazing Carly from and turned into a virus shawl.

I can never say enough how much I appreciate everyone who stops by when I’m at an event. Shepherd’s Harvest was lovely - new friends, old friends, everyone sporting their new projects for an incredible walking fashion show of knits and wovens and crochet…

So thank you all and since this year we had a lot of questions about the name on the sign, Becka wrote up a fun blog post about Two Fish Fibers.

As a bonus treat if you click through and get to the pictures at the bottom, Jen and I were doing show and tell on our fleece purchases and we all started laughing. There’s zero chance we’ll confuse my fleeces with Jen’s backstage.

It’s the best event of spring! I’ll be there with the amazing Becka Rahn: Fiber Art.

Rumor has it there’s a box of rocks packed in my truck already for some warp weighted loom fun. There’s a vending machine with micro crafts in it. There’s a neon goldfish sign. Let’s all find some yarn joy together.
