LIHEAP Summer Subsidy ​
Kentucky households can apply for LIHEAP Summer Subsidy from August 3 - September 11, 2026, to help offset cooling costs with a one-time electric benefit. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, or until funds are depleted.
Interested households in Bullitt, Shelby and Spencer Counties should contact Multi-Purpose Community Action Agency for application instructions.

Households must meet eligibility requirements, including household income of up to and including 150 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines to qualify for assistance. Benefits are paid directly to the household’s electric vendor.

No disconnect notice, past-due bill, or eviction notice is required to apply. Assistance received during previous LIHEAP components does not affect eligibility.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible community for donating food for our pantry this past Saturday, and to the Post Office for collecting and distributing those donations to local food pantries. Because of your generosity, families facing crisis and emergency situations in Shelbyville and the surrounding areas will have access to the food they need. We are so grateful for the support that helps us care for our neighbors in times of need.

Help us stock up on Hygiene products!

Operation Care is currently in need of hygiene product donations to help support individuals and families in our community.

Some of the items we are needing are:
-Deodorant for Men and Women.
-Shampoo
-Conditioner
-Toothpaste
-Baby wipes

Donations can be dropped off at 708 Main Street between the hours of 10:00am-5:00pm Monday through Saturday.
