One of my favorite things about sharing what I learn is hearing what other parents have learned along the way too.

So I want to hear yours...

What's something you learned as a parent that made you think, "I REALLY wish someone had told me this sooner"?

It can be about anything.. pregnancy, babies, feeding, school, doctors, vaccines, allergies, products, milestones... anything!

Share your "I wish I knew" in the comments. You never know when something you learned might help another parent know what questions to ask.

Knowledge shared is knowledge gained.

🩸 I wish I knew about titers sooner, but I’m happy I learned in time to save my kids from two more injections they didn’t need. 🩸

When Kai was coming up on his kindergarten vaccine requirements, instead of automatically giving him his next MMR and Varicella doses, we checked his immunity first.

He was already immune. 🙌🏻

That meant 2 fewer injections for him.. and because MMR protects against 3 diseases, those two injections represented 4 vaccine components he already showed immunity to.

And something else I didn’t know until recently: Hep B immunity can be checked too. Kai had already completed all 3 of his Hep B doses before I knew this was an option.

I’m not sharing this to tell anyone whether or not to vaccinate their child. I’m sharing because I believe parents should know what options exist and be able to have informed conversations with their child’s doctor.

A titer doesn’t guarantee your child won’t need another dose.. but sometimes it can show that immunity is already there. 🤍

Knowledge gives parents the ability to ask questions ☺️

Back in January, before automatically getting Kai’s kindergarten boosters, I spoke with our school district and pediatrician and learned that titers could be drawn for certain vaccines to see if he already had immunity.

So that’s exactly what we did.. and I’m SO glad we checked first. Kai came back immune! 🙌🏻🤍

Before his positive titers, he had:

MMR: 1 dose — 11/11/21
Varicella: 1 dose — 3/23/22

His bloodwork showed the immunity our district needed for the vaccines they accepted titers for, so he didn’t need those additional doses. The only one he ended up needing was polio because a new polio titer cannot be used for NYS school requirements.

And now it’s Rae’s turn! She had her titers drawn today because she starts school next week. She has had:

MMR: 1 dose — 3/15/23
Varicella: 1 dose — 9/11/24

I’m praying she has the same good luck as Kai and her bloodwork shows she already has immunity too! 🤞🏻🤍

To put it into perspective:

Kai had 1 MMR + 1 Varicella. Without accepted proof of immunity through his titers, he would have needed 2 additional vaccine doses .. another MMR + Varicella.

Rae is in the same position now. If her titers don’t provide acceptable proof of immunity, she would likewise need another MMR + Varicella to meet those requirements.

I’m sharing because your child may already have immunity from the doses they’ve received. 🤍 It’s worth asking your pediatrician AND school district whether titers are accepted for a particular vaccine.

Every child and situation is different.. this is simply our experience and something I learned by asking questions. 🤍

FAQ: What about DTaP titers? 💉🩸

This one is a little different!

DTaP protects against diphtheria, tetanus & pertussis (whooping cough). Bloodwork can measure antibodies to diphtheria and tetanus, but there is no established titer that can reliably prove immunity to pertussis. For NYS school requirements, DTaP titers are not accepted as a substitute for the required DTaP doses.

One day, these little hands won’t be reaching for my products or insisting on “helping” pack orders. They’ll be busy chasing their own dreams, and I’ll miss these little interruptions more than I can put into words.

If BubbleRae teaches my children anything, I hope it’s that dreams are worth chasing, hard work matters, and family will always come before anything else.

For now, I’ll gladly take the slower days, the little helper by my side, and the memories we’re making together. 🤍

I was taking a quick photo to show the difference between my new wide-mouth 4 oz jars and the 2 oz before packaging an order… and Caleb decided he wanted to help. 🤍

One of my favorite parts about The Cameron Collection is that it’s completely customizable to your preferences.

Each Cameron Collection includes:

🤍 20 handcrafted bars of soap made with your own breast milk
🤍 2 packed bags of shavings

The shavings are honestly my favorite part of the collection. They’re my number ONE go-to BubbleRae product because they’re so versatile. Just sprinkle a small pinch into a shallow bath and let them dissolve into a creamy, milky soak. I especially love recommending them when skin is open, extra dry, or irritated because sometimes rubbing even the gentlest bar of soap directly onto sensitive skin can sting. The shavings offer a gentle alternative while still allowing you to enjoy your own breast milk soap. They’re also perfect for travel and only a tiny pinch is needed for each bath.

Don’t want lard? No problem.. I can create a lard-free recipe using plant-based oils.

Prefer to avoid coconut oil? That’s completely fine, too.

Have certain ingredients you love or others you’d rather leave out? We’ll go over everything together before I make your batch so I can create a recipe that fits your preferences while still using your own breast milk.

Every mother’s breastfeeding journey is different, and I believe your soap should be just as unique as the milk that goes into it. 🤍

To my amazing customers 🤍

I want to sincerely apologize for having to cancel this Sunday’s BubbleRae Pop-Up Shop. As many of you know, my children will always come first. Monday was the scariest day of my life when Caleb stopped breathing after swallowing baby cereal, turned completely blue, and had to be rushed to the hospital by ambulance.

After a very long night admitted to the hospital, we’re so thankful he was discharged and back home!! He had a soft tissue X-ray done that showed his enlarged adenoids, AND he was diagnosed with pertussis (whooping cough). Honestly, it finally makes sense why he has been struggling so much over the last week waking all night long basically choking on nothing, and we have an answer why his episodes became so intense because I was about to start my investigation and have my home tested for mold! I would’ve never thought he was sick. He had no symptoms.. only these sleep apnea symptoms. Since he was just 2 months old, he’s had loud breathing, poor sleep, enlarged adenoids, and episodes where he wakes up sounding like he can’t breathe. Even without the cough or fever, the whooping cough likely made his already swollen airway much worse. We’re now focusing on getting his sleep study scheduled as soon as possible to better understand what else may be contributing to these nighttime episodes.

The steroids have helped tremendously, and today he was able to eat without another frightening episode. Our entire family is taking antibiotics as a precaution while we focus on getting our little guy healthy and preventing the spread of this bacterial infection.

Because of everything that’s happened, I’m putting my pop-ups on hold. BubbleRae’s Pop-Up Shop isn’t going anywhere… it just needs to wait while I take care of what matters most.

If you commented for one of the free Furbaby mini soaps, I saved you one. They’ll be available for pickup at Balance Mind Body & Soul in Miller Place. And if you were planning to come Sunday for any BubbleRae products, just send me a message and I’ll happily bag your order for pickup and drop it off at the store.
Thank you all for your understanding, your patience, and especially your prayers. 🤍

One of the most important decisions I made when creating my soaps wasn’t just what ingredients to use… it was what to leave behind.

Every bar of true soap starts with lye. During the soap-making process, the lye reacts with the oils and is transformed into soap. When a recipe is properly formulated and fully finished, there shouldn’t be active lye remaining in the final bar.

But I didn’t stop there.

I chose to formulate every BubbleRae® bar with a 5% superfat, meaning I intentionally leave a small percentage of nourishing oils unsaponified.

Why?

Because my goal was never to create a soap that just cleansed. My goal was to create a bar that felt as thoughtful as possible for skin like Rae’s.

That extra 5% allows some of those incredible oils to remain in the finished bar, adding a little extra conditioning while the soap does its job.

Most people never think about formulation. They see the ingredient list.. but they don’t see the decisions behind it.

To me, those little decisions matter. They’re the reason I spent years creating a bar I felt confident using on my own daughter’s skin.

Because BubbleRae® has never been just a bar of soap.

It’s Not Just a Bar of Soap®. 🤍
