It’s been one whole year since we officially opened the doors to Ranch House Society in Silverton, Tx! This was a dream and something I never thought would be possible. So first I want you to see.
That little cart is how my business started. It grew and thrived. One side held jewelry inventory. The other held shipping supplies. It sat on the side of my dining room table and it held my printer shipping label and everything I needed to run my business! I shipped out of that little shelf all over the a United States for well over a year.
That little shelf carried my whole dream. But my dream grew. I knew that Silverton would officially be our home and so I decided it was time to go all in. This building was vacant for 15+ years. Was FULL of stuff. The ceiling had caved in, animals were living in it and enough dirt to fill an arena inside! But I saw what it could be. Most people thought I was crazy!! For MONTHS with no AC I might add I started cleaning it up. I spent every moment I could. So needless to say I poured along of blood sweat and tears into this.
I’m so thankful for John and Trena Burson for seeing my dream and believing in me. Allowing me to rent the building and making all the structural repairs so we could bring this building back to life! I will never be able to repay what Their belief in me meant and for taking a chance on me to bring my dream to life! They are not just my landlords, they are like a second inherited grandparents and I am so thankful for them every single day.
Now putting this building together wasn’t easy. Because let me tell ya. The budget was SMALL to make this look pretty so can of paint here a quick lumber store run there. Oh and don’t forget that I had to load that huge poach cedar posts IN MY CAR😳 I spent COUNTLESS HOURS well into most nights working on this building. I poured my heart and
Soul into it! Literally the back wall that our cash register is on is hand painted with brands that show case my history, different ranches I’ve lived on through my life, family brands, brands of local ranches to the area, and family brands of friends that have always loved and supported us along the way. I told lots of furniture that was already in the building and painted it or flipped it to make it work. Our check out counter is covered in a cowhide rug I used to use at trade shows when I did Renegade Ranch(the OGs know) you will find old cowboy hats all over the store that have been worn personally past years by my dad, husband and brother. This building literally shows my history. Oh and the flower beds are old filing cabinets that were in the building I painted and added the brands to.
In the past year we have served over 1000+ customers! I would have NEVER EVER dreamed that In a small town of 650 people this little “boutique” would thrive the way it does! We opened our doors and brought in other small business vendors and creators to share the space and have a place to share their creations. It was important to me that it served my community and helped those who were also a small business in my area. At some points we had over 35 different small businesses inside our store as well and you have no idea how much joy that brings me!!
I know this post is long but I do have to say…. I am so thankful for this opportunity. And if you ever have a chance to support a small business please please do so. Most of us have poured everything we have into making this business work. I know the economy is hard. Trust me there were days and weeks this summer I wasn’t sure how we would make it to the next. But GOD has always provided. With this holiday season quickly approaching I would love the opportunity to help you find something that you may be looking for. And even if you never make a purchase, a like, a share, a comment, a follow means more than you know and helps out small businesses so much!
I want to thank everyone who has helped us bring this dream to life! To the late nights and days you spent helping paint or cleaning or anything above. Not only that but who supported and shopped whether it be in the store online or in our vip group.
I am forever grateful for you!
