Most people would have.

Hidden mold had destroyed the cork footbeds, but the thick vintage leather was still worth saving. Instead of replacing the sandals, we rebuilt them from the ground up with new custom cork footbeds, smooth leather insoles, and durable Vibram soles.

This rare vintage Birkenstock Miramar Big Buckle sandals had mold hidden deep inside the cork footbeds, a problem caused by moisture working its way through the toe loop and becoming trapped inside the cork over decades of wear.

The leather? Still worth saving.

After a deep cleaning and sanitizing, we conditioned the original thick full-grain leather, customized brand-new cork footbeds, hand-crafted smooth leather insoles to match the originals, and finished them with thin durable black Vibram Elvis soles for years of dependable wear.

A little care goes a long way. Many vintage shoes don't fail because they're worn out, they fail because they've never been cared for.

Some shoes deserve a second life.

These Tecovas got brand new full leather soles with Vibram sole guards and vintage Bitrite cowboy heels. We cleaned the uppers a best as possible and waterproof them for protection. Recrafted vintage Birkenstock Oslos.

Brought down in size & upgraded to a soft cork footbed.

Dyed black with cleaned and conditioned leather straps.

Finished with an EXCELLENT balck Vibram Woodstock outsole.

This discontinued model came from a forgotten era of Birkenstock, when the company was building full leather shoes around its iconic orthopedic cork footbed. And thanks to a previous owner who sealed the cork and protected the soles with heel taps, this pair survived in incredible condition, for our client to love and us to recraft.

Some shoes are worth replacing. But Birks like these are worth preserving.

If you don’t want to spend $200+ on converting your Leather Soled Cowboy Boots to a Vibram Rubber Sole, sole guard may be the best solution for you. It’s a thin rubber half sole that goes over the existing leather sole. Giving you more traction, durability, and maintaining that nice sleek cowboy edge. I’d highly recommend doing this to all your casual/dress boots if you want to save money on resoles and get more performance out of your cowboy boots! They needed a smaller soft cork footbed and he wanted them dyed black, topped off with a black Vibram Woodstock sole. So we're carefully taking them apart, preserving what makes them special, and rebuilding them for many more years of wear.

Some shoes are worth replacing. But Birks like these are worth preserving.
