Sometimes I look at this little shop and still can’t believe I get to call it mine. 🤍
This season feels especially tender. September will mark five years since I lost my husband, and lately I’ve found myself looking back at just how far I’ve come. There were so many days I couldn’t see what was ahead. I was simply trying to put one foot in front of the other.
And yet, God has sustained me through every single season.
Now I get to stand here, in a community I love so much, doing something that has become such a huge piece of my heart. I don’t take any of it for granted. The people who walk through these doors, the friendships, the encouragement, the way Smyrna has welcomed me and this shop… it means more than I could ever put into words.
Life can hold grief and gratitude at the very same time. I think I understand that more now than ever.
There will always be an ache for what I’ve lost, but when I look at this picture, I also see so much of what God has carried me to.
Five years later, I’m still standing. Still growing. Still trusting. And surrounded by blessings I never could have imagined back then.
My heart is just really, really grateful. 🤍
