Hey Folks, just want to give you a heads up that most of the magazines that are listed on Ebay will be increased in price in the next round of listing. That would be this week. Every two weeks I end my magazine listings so I can include the new issues that I've acquired. Starting Tuesday evening, I will begin to relist the magazines with the new higher prices.
Hate to do it, it's going to kill some sales, but the post office has increased their pricing again and we can no longer send these out via media mail. I don't like the idea of using calculated shipping, so I'm keeping it at free shipping...for now.
In the past, the magazines have been priced by costs, now the weight has to be considered as well. Media mail was always the most affordable way to send things out, but magazines are no longer allowed so now everything will have to be sent out via First Class or Ground Advantage.
All of the weekly magazines won't change price, they're currently at $9 and usually weigh under 7oz, so the postage is just a wee bit higher. People Magazine prices won't change either, they'll stay at $10, unless it's a special edition.
A lot of the older magazines are increasing to $10 as many of them weigh in at 12-14oz and can cost as much as $6 in postage. I might have to increase them further, but for now still affordable.
So, this is your fair warning. If there's an issue you've been looking at, I suggest you get it now before it's relisted at the higher prices.

New Issues now available, plus a few titles restocked! The Gangsters magazine, plus the Better Homes and Garden Bread Recipe magazine is newly restocked. Unfortunately I only have a couple of copies of each. The Tina Turner, her life in pictures magazine is new with some fantastic photos included plus a retrospective on the life of Michael J. Fox are new additions to my inventory of magazines. Get them now while I still have them in stock. In January, as postal rates go up, so will the price of the magazines. Sorry! Gotta make a little money on these issues otherwise it's not worth trying to get new stuff all the time!

Got some new magazines going up today. Because of postal and wholesale cost increases, many of the magazines will be increasing in price. You may have noticed that the weekly magazines, such as Closer, In Touch, Life & Style, Star and Us have gone up to $9 an issue. With the postal increase on July 1st, and another due in January 2024, it's getting more and more expensive to send out even the lighter magazine. I was pricing them in relation to their retail price, but now I will have to change my formula to weight instead. A lot of the older magazines are heavier, as they were thicker, even the paper stock was weightier. The craft magazines, with the patterns included weigh close to a pound and over. As a result, in two weeks, those magazines will be increasing in price as well. If you've been browsing the craft magazines and thought you might pick up an issue, now is the time to do it, before I have to increase the prices.

These are the cover shots for the couple of hundred photos of used Betamax tapes. It took me almost two days to collect, organize, photograph and list all of the tapes. I'm going to list them by brand, but if you see something you like in another USED Betamax listing, you are more than welcome to mix and match. Most of the tapes have an index card indicating what was originally recorded on them years ago when my Dad taped anything that captured his interest. The quality of tapes vary. I started off with the TDK tapes, now on to the Sony, even a few HG betamax tapes. Still have Kodak, Polaroid, BASF, Memorex and SKC tapes that I have yet to organize and list. Keep an eye out if you're in need of blank tapes.

In August of 2021, Media Mail increased by .39 to $3.19. On July 10, 2022, the rates increase to $3.49. In 2021 I was able to absorb those increases but can no longer do so In July 2022, all magazine prices will increase from .50 to $1. Sorry to have to do this, but as my supplier is increasing his prices, the increases in postal rates and fees from Ebay, I have little choice but to raise my prices, though I will do so as minimally as I can.
This is my last round of magazine listings with these prices. The new listings with the price increases will be posted on the 1st of July.

Been concentrating on listing the bulk items I have in an effort to de-clutter my home. I've never been fond of tossing out stuff and filling a landfill. So, I try to be patient, list items on Ebay then sit back and see what catches people's attention.
This week, I've been focusing my attention to my Dad's Betamax tapes. I've got two video cabinets filled to the brim with Betas, plus three crates I just found in a closet I've been wanting to clear out. That doesn't include the three crates I previously knew about. All told, I think there's something like 250-300 tapes. I had been listing them as sets of 9, just cause they photograph well--but I found they are difficult to pack, as the odd number doesn't fit so well in the boxes I have. Oh well. My first initial listings just featured shots of the tapes themselves, but I got so many requests for photos of the index cards which indicate the content, I've included those in every listing.
As a result, they've been flying off the shelf! Thank goodness! If I can get them in the hands of collectors, keep them out of the landfills and empty my crates, I'm a happy camper!
I imagine I'll be listing them until the end of the summer, if they go as well as they have with this initial set of listings.

Tonight I'm finally listing some of the backlog of 'blank' video tapes from the family collection. Betamax and VHS tapes that we used in the early 80s and 90s to tape our favorite shows, TV specials and films.
I'm starting off with my Dad's Betamax tapes. I've got something like 250-300 video tapes that have all manner of things on them. My Dad loved Westerns, Sci Fi, Detective and cop shows and the occasional awards show. He would take meticulous notes of what was on each tape, and include an index card with the information of what was on that tape. He like to write down the name of the series, the name of the episode and the actors in that episode.
Sorry, I can't tell you if there's commercials included. I can't play any of these tapes. Rest assured though, they are in great condition for their age. My Dad was very adamant about rewinding the tapes.
I'm trying to take good photos of the tapes, but I don't want to separate the cards from the tapes, and since most of the tapes have no labels on them, I don't want to confuse the which card belongs to which tape.

It finally happened. I got "invited" to join Ebay's Managed Payments program. This is where they take over the money part of the transaction. In order for me to continue listing on Ebay, I had to join their program, or shut down everything on their site. I decided to give it a try, considering the incentive of 10K free listings if you comply.
In November, I opened an Ebay store, and with the 1000 free listings, I was able to put up a portion of the items I've had waiting to list. But there's so much more.
I'm going to try and get as much stuff as possible up on Ebay, it may take a few months. When the free listings go away, and they will, I will quit the store and will at that point be forced to quit Ebay. So, keep on eye on my Ebay page for more items.

Gearing up for the Holidays, means I'll be opening my Temporary Ebay store for the next 7 weeks. I currently have all of my Teefury shirts up at the moment, and the listings will end a day early next Sunday. Here's the deal, because of the Pandemic, postal rates have gone up for delivery of packages during the holiday season. In January, they have asked for another permanent increase. I've had the shirts at the lowest prices ever that include shipping. In December, all of the shirts will be going out as Auctions, starting at $12 with calculated shipping the buyer will have to pay. They will some to about $4 or so, making each shirt regardless of size $16. I simply can't absorb the cost of shipping any longer. If you do the math, the shirts are actually cheaper NOW, but you gotta get them before next Sunday, when I'll be cancelling the Buy it Now listings.
