These were my granny’s sewing scissors ✂️

My aunt has been sewing for 70 years, and while she’s been visiting she showed me to tie a little scrap of fabric around the handle.

That way, no one accidentally grabs them for paper.

It’s such a small thing…

But now every time I reach for them, I’ll think of both of them. 🤍

Lately I’ve taken a step back from social media.

Not because I don’t love creating content, but because I started noticing that my views were affecting my mood more than they should. A good post made me feel good. A bad post made me question myself.

And I didn’t like that.

So I’ve been putting my phone down more.

I’ve started a garden I talked about for years but never actually planted.

I’ve been reading books instead of scrolling before bed.

I picked up a new hobby, and at the moment all I know how to make are ruffled pillowcases.

I’ve been making summer memories with my boys and taking time for myself without feeling guilty.

The funny thing is, the less time I’ve spent staring at my phone, the more I’ve remembered that life is happening outside of it.
And now I’m trying to find my way back.

To sharing the things I love without letting the numbers decide how I feel about myself.

To creating content because I enjoy it.

To remembering that this account is part of my life, not my whole life.
