From a piece of fabric to a finished dress. 🖤✨

I made this black double-face satin dress completely from scratch.

Besides taking in the wedding dress and hemming sleeves and bottom, it needed a few more adjustments to achieve the perfect fit.

The shoulders were slipping off and wouldn’t stay in place, so I added silicone elastic to give them a better grip and gently tighten the area for a more secure fit.

The back closure also needed some attention, so I replaced the hooks and eyes with a new set for a clean, secure closure.

It’s the little details that can make such a big difference in the fit and comfort of a wedding dress! 🪡✂️👰🏻‍♀️✨.

Replacing a broken zipper on a handmade mesh, heavily beaded dress.
Because of the delicate mesh and intricate beadwork, the zipper must be carefully removed and replaced while preserving the original construction and avoiding damage to the beading.

I transformed her wedding gown into a beautiful rehearsal dinner dress and a robe for her daughter. A little piece of Mom’s love, carried forward. 🥹🪡

A plain topstitched hem is simply cut, folded, and sewn.
An original jean hem keeps the factory hem intact. The jeans are shortened by reattaching the original bottom hem, preserving the original look, fading, and stitching—making the alteration nearly invisible. ✂️.
