Starting as an apprentice in the mountains of Asheville, NC in 2017 I fell in love with leather. My focus is turning raw veg tan into wearable, everyday items that are strong enough to last for generations. Hand tooling, staining, and painting are a few of my favorite ways to make custom, one of a kind items that are saddle stitched and guaranteed for life.

As promised, here are the photos that were taken of my latest watch strap repair to go along with my behind-the-scenes video.

Admittedly, this repair job was deceptively technical and full of curveballs.

Sharpened some old skills and gained a few new ones as well.

Overall, I had a good time.

Real challenge though?

Every cut and every stitch
had to be exact down to the millimeter, otherwise the straps I made wouldn't fit back into the watch's original hardware.

Proud to say that not only was I able to stay within parameters, but I was also able to really push just how close I can hand-punch stitching holes from the edge, clocking in at just 3 mm.

The only way to get good, is by challenging yourself, right?

Finished up this custom trucker long wallet recently and had to show it off.

The person who wanted this was looking for something a little larger and sleeker than their current wallet, as well as something that could withstand the wear and tear of everyday life.

Together, we chose leather, stitch and hardware colors and I brought their vision to life.

Slim, sleek, and built to last.

And you know I had to sign the inside with my signature.

Somehow it's August already

The more the year has gone on, the faster it has seemed to go over here.

I've been pushing myself this year and thankfully have been kept busy between events, commissions and repairs.

I'm also happy to announce that I have been working on starting up a micro-farm this year as well and that has been going pretty well too.

Anyway, as always, grateful for the support as well as the ability to share my abilities and sharpen my skills.

So, I'm looking forward to August and I'm definitely looking forward to the fall and some better weather.
