Just over here reminiscing about last Thursdays Macrame class with the .

It was so much fun! She brought everything needed for these fabulous ladies to make a super cool plant macrame holder.
They had so much fun they bought extra material from Natasha to take home and make another one
( now that they are professionals 😉)

Anyway, we enjoyed the so much that we have already scheduled another class with her for August!
This time it will be macrame earrings 💕 so stay tuned on more about this😎

Amazon has negatively impacted small brick-and-mortar businesses and the economy in so many ways…
here are just a few 👇🏻

-Unfair Pricing Pressure: Amazon’s ability to offer lower prices due to its scale forces local businesses to lower their prices, often below sustainable levels, which can lead to closures.

-Reduced Foot Traffic: As more consumers shop online, brick-and-mortar stores experience decreased foot traffic, making it harder for them to attract customers and generate sales.

-Job Losses: The decline of small businesses leads to job losses in the community, impacting livelihoods and reducing overall economic stability.

-Monopolistic Behavior: Amazon’s dominance can stifle competition, leading to fewer choices for consumers and potentially higher prices in the long run as local alternatives disappear.

-Community Disconnection: The shift towards online shopping diminishes the sense of community and social interaction that local businesses foster, weakening local ties and engagement.

If you haven’t come to Hillyard for the Third Thursday events yet you are really missing out!

This last Thursday we had set up with her bead bar out front and it was SOOO FUN!
So many people stopped by and made everything from phone straps, to keychains to charms and more!

It was an absolute blast and wildly popular!

What do you think? Should we do have her come back and do this again???
