Wishing the best of luck to our Pirate ambassadors Saige & Jordyn and the Rogers High School Track & Field team as they head to state! 🏴‍☠️
Huge congrats to Eva Krebs, Saige Stuart, Jordyn Bridges, & Meaquiyah Tomeo for taking 2nd at districts in the 4x1 relay! 🥈

And an extra shoutout to Saige for also taking 2nd in the 300m hurdles at districts! We’re proud of you! Go kick ass and represent, kids!

We’ve had an influx of requests the last week or so, which is absolutely fabulous! We are able to cover a few without asking for additional help, but we could definitely use some community assistance with the rest.

Look at these amazing opportunities our Hillyard youth have the possibility of experiencing.

Any monetary amount helps these kids get closer to diving deep into a passion… Or on the flipside, shows them that this activity may not be for them. Which is just as valuable!

If this postcard landed in your Hillyard neighborhood mailbox, lucky you, you're invited to drag your junk to the Northeast Community Center between 10am and 1pm on Saturday the 23rd for a drive-thru trash party and canned food drive...need volunteers to make it a trash-tastic event, it's for a pretty great cause, honestly!

He initiated change.

A check-in from recipient Dominic, who received an electric guitar and amp from Hillyard Built late last year.

Music is his life. He loves songwriting and playing the guitar. didn’t have a music class or very many musical instruments so he reached out to us to help him strengthen his skills and love for his passion.

One of our stipulations was for him to check in with us quarterly so we can see his progress…. He recently sent us this video along with the following message:

“The specialization is a class people can take for elective, CTE, and or in the music exploration specialist case which is art, we do it once a week on Wednesday, theres an am and pm class for all students to participate in, we mainly focus on self growth whether that’s learning for the first time or improving what you know, I hope this class can stay for a long time with the year coming to a close I hope next year it can stay.”

THAT right there is an example of why we do what we do. Not only is he building skills, confidence and a sense of belonging, but he also helped initiate a program where his peers and classmates can do the same.
