The older I get, the more I realize what a gift it is to have friendships that stand the test of time. I’m so thankful for the people the Lord has placed in our lives and for the countless ways He has blessed us.
The past 11 days at the beach were hot, sandy, exhausting, and so incredibly sweet. As I get closer to meeting William, I couldn’t help but think this would likely be our last big summer trip as a family of four. I know one day I’ll look back on these days with so much gratitude.
I found myself trying to soak in every little thing about Georgia and Brooks. They are so excited to become a big sister and big brother, but I know this season of it being “just us” is coming to an end. My heart is overflowing knowing our family is growing, while also holding tightly to these last moments with the two who first made me a mama.
This trip was full of milestones. Georgia learned to swim all by herself and even lost a tooth! Brooks became so much braver in the water and loved the ocean more than he ever has.
And then there are these friendships. We’ve been friends for over 25 years… what an incredible gift. The Lord has written such a beautiful story. We all had our girls within 14 months of each other, and then our boys all arrived within a year of one another. Watching our children make memories together is something I’ll never stop thanking Him for.
Life moves so quickly. Seasons change, babies grow, and before you know it, the moments you thought were ordinary become the ones you miss the most. This week was a gentle reminder to slow down, be present, and thank God for every little gift right in front of me. He has been SO SO good!
