This gown arrived with every lace flower, covered button and scalloped edge already in place, and that part belongs to the designer. What it didn’t have yet was her shape. We took in the sides of the mermaid silhouette so the crepe follows her from bodice to flare, then added a bustle so all that lace can leave the floor once the dancing starts.

Many brides can buy the same design. Only one gets it fitted to her. 🤍

The neckline didn’t quite feel like her.
Everything else about this gown was right. The mikado, the mermaid line, the train. But every time she looked in the mirror, her eyes went back to the same place.

So we redesigned it. The bodice was opened and the neckline re-draped entirely by hand, fitted on her, asymmetric, in the gown’s own fabric — so nothing about it reads as an alteration.

One of a kind. The dress she’d always pictured.

This wedding dress isn’t like the others, and that’s exactly why we took our time with it. We adjusted it and made it even more special than it already was.

We also made her a bustle so she’d be comfortable all night. It turned out perfect, and it still shows off all the beauty the dress came with.

On the dance floor, it needs a plan.

Before choosing her bustle, we walked her through every option: French, American, ballroom. We looked at how each one would fall on satin and how each would hold up across the lawn and into the reception. She chose with confidence, not guesswork.

Most brides walk into their first appointment and hear a language they were never taught. So they nod. They agree to a bustle they didn’t choose, a hem they didn’t understand, a seam allowance they didn’t know was about to be cut off for good.

You’re allowed to understand what’s happening to the most expensive dress you’ll ever wear.

Her grandmother’s dress became two christening gowns, because nobody knows yet if the baby is a boy or a girl.

No one to measure. No more of that fabric anywhere. We drafted from newborn proportions, left room at the shoulders and sleeves, and closed everything with covered buttons so it can still be adjusted.

Forty minutes each way. Every single fitting.

There were tailors closer to her. There was even one her bridal boutique had recommended by name, the safe choice, the one already vetted for her.

She didn’t take it.

She read reviews for weeks first. That’s how most brides find us, honestly: at eleven at night, comparing strangers, trying to figure out who they can hand the most expensive thing they’ve ever bought to.

In her words:

“I searched and searched thru reviews to find a place to bring my wedding dress. Monica had great communication from the start, great pricing, and great timing… I chose to drive 30–40 minutes to her every time rather than the few places I chose in Houston, and I chose her over the tailor my atelier recommended.”

And then she came back after the wedding, to have it cleaned and preserved. It was boxed and waiting the day she arrived to pick it up.

We can’t shorten anyone’s drive. What we can promise is that every date we give you is a date we keep, and that your gown will be treated like it can’t be replaced. Because it can’t.
