Sometimes I forget to talk about the basics of the Sunrise Today Sobriety Journal...I'll try to make this short and sweet:

1. Gentle guidance on each page that asks a question, or tells a story, or both about sobriety.
2. No judgement.
3. Intro to prayer.
4. Intro to meditation.
5. Intro to connecting with your angels.
6. The book I wished I had in the first month of sobriety.
7. Easy to consume and easy to follow (because there's a little bit to read each day rather than getting through a long and complicated book that takes 3 months to read, or is so depressing you can't get through the introduction.😉
8. Empowering.
9. Make your own method- choose what's important to you.
10. Beautiful illustrations.
11. Made by an artist and Gen-X'er.

For moms who want to get sober, for moms who have relapsed, for moms who are thinking about getting sober (or just taking a break for a week, 30 days, whatever your goal), for moms who have gotten sober...

I wish you all the best for Mother's Day... ☀️

The Sunrise Today Journal for Sobriety was created with a page a day format where each page systematically builds on the last one. The journal is written with plenty of room for writing, and has a total of 38 pages, which carries you through the critical first month (plus some!). I included extra pages within the journal for writing.

There is designated space in the back for drinking days, or relapse. (Whatever term you prefer to use.) In your journal, I encourage you to write about each relapse period.

In the back of the journal is a hefty appendix with references and I include the aspects I used for my sobriety and I break the aspects down so that you can understand how I used each aspect. I give a percentage to each aspect, to demonstrate how important each aspect was to my journey.

Here are my aspects:

Spirituality
Knowledge
Rewards
Habits
Community
Counseling
Sleep
Exercise

I crafted and wrote the journal with reference to all of these aspects, and encourage the user to make their own plan in the form of a pyramid.

When there is plan, there is purpose and direction. 🧭 ➡️

The journal is available on my website and is available to ship upon purchase!

Zhuang Zhou, or Chuang Tzu, was a Chinese philosopher who lived circa 4th Century BC during the Warring States period, a period concurrent to the summit of Chinese Philosophy, the Hundred Schools of thought. He is credited with writing-in part of in whole- a work known by his name, the Zhuangzi, which is one of the foundational texts of the TAO.

Every month is a fresh start for your SOBRIETY JOURNEY, and also it is Spring! Sunrise Today is a brand for Sobriety... I have a website dedicated to products and now Meditations in order to help you on your journey.

Each month I also post one of my photos I have taken on my sober journey from a corresponding month, from past years now...!) This Sunrise picture was taken on MAY 2 of last year. I have so many pictures from last April, as the weather is finally getting better and I can catch those better weather sunrises, and roads... (which are on my bike!)

Most of the Sunrise Today pictures you see of landscape and sunrises are taken by me... Since I started my sobriety in September of 2019, I began documenting my biking trail on most of my rides to form the visuals for SUNRISE TODAY as a creative concept.

I love how the sun is peeking out from the 'm' in the picture. Don't forget to hashtag

Since sobriety, I've been working a great deal on Surrender, and as a result studying Consciousness. I listen to and read David R. Hawkins quite a bit, and am fascinated by his 'Scale of Consciousness'. (See also my tabs on Gurus, and the tab on Books on my profile page.)

Surrender, in my humble opinion means that I need to ask myself, 'What can I let go of today?", and 'Where can I find the most peace in my day?"

I used to be so much more of a confrontational person, or a person who wanted to 'fix' things. We often interpret this as 'getting s**t done' and that was me, all over. Often, I'd take on new problems to solve. If something wasn't being done 'right', I'd make it so.

Take for instance that time I wanted to 'help my parents' with their kitchen cabinets which were in bad shape. The cabinets were on tiny little hinges from the 90's and therefore were all slanted and falling off the hinges. Some cabinet doors, you would have to close them against each other to keep them shut. This bothered me, and 2 Christmases ago I offered to fix them. This seemed like a great idea to me since they were in bad shape, and I felt like this would improve their environment and the functionality of their kitchen, AND also be such a great and big gift for my parents who I felt needed help to maintain their home.

My parents, and my brothers did not appreciate my help, to say the least and there was resistance right away at the suggestion. Not only that, to replace doors on the cabinets, would cost me quite a bit of time (I estimated a 2 weekend project at least.), and replacement of the doors would cost upwards of 2k- even if we did it DIY style, ordering from an online store….

Stay tuned for the continued BLOG post.
