One of Erique and my’s holiday traditions is to watch specific movies leading up to Christmas. To honor that, I created these little 3” tall, 1/8” thick, double sided ornaments of each movie’s poster. And we can easily add to them each year. It’s good to have traditions.

P.S. Yes “my’s” is grammatically correct. When in doubt remove the other person’s name and read the sentence and if it makes sense then it’s right. “One of my holiday traditions” is right; “One of I’s holiday traditions” would be incorrect. The more you know.

We have so many toys and things around the house that the kids no longer use, and while we can rehome many of them, there are some things that we can upcycle like their wood blocks. Fill in the blank, I am inspired by ...
From Danielle: my mother. She was left in a bad situation when I was around a year old and she fought and worked hard her whole life (and is still working at 70 years old). She made sure we always had everything we needed, not always what we wanted but we never lacked for anything. I hope to provide that same inspiration for our kids. Who inspires you?

I don't think a day goes by when I don't think back on something I said or did and wonder if I'm doing a good job as a mother. Some days I yell too much, get frustrated too easily, and get too busy with work and say, "In just a minute." too many times. As they say, the days are long, but the years are short. While we can't always be as present as we want, all we can do is try to improve. Happy mother's day. If you're as worried as I am about being a good mother, it means you already are one.

While we don't make many milestone blocks, these galaxy blocks were some of my favorites! The contrast with the black stain and the real gold streaks and flecks was wonderful. It's funny; while we have all of these cool things, we never did them with our kids. Cobbler with no shoes syndrome!
