Still late… still having way too much fun over here.

Today is all about pressing those sewn strips and getting them ready for the next round of pinning—and this is the moment where it finally starts to feel real. First time seeing all those colors lined up in their actual arrangement… and wow… it’s GOOD.

Like, “okay this was worth being late for” good.

Now comes the not-so-glamorous part… more pinning. Always more pinning. But that’s what gets those crisp, clean points we’re after, so we’ll take it.

Slow & steady… maybe a little too slow today

Charles is piecing the pinned strips into diamonds—3 sets of 2—and let’s just say… we might still be here tomorrow at this pace.

You can hear it in the background—the domestic machine humming along while Tilly is doing her thing too. It’s a full studio symphony today.

This is where consistency really matters. That 1/4" seam? It’s everything.
Too wide or too narrow and suddenly your points are either getting chopped off… or floating like they’ve got somewhere better to be.

Slow, steady, and a little obsessive is the name of the game here. Next up: pressing… and yes… more pinning.

The Sweetest Quilt We’ve Seen This Week (Sunbonnet Sue Storytime)

Some quilts just stop you in your tracks—and this one did exactly that.

A client brought us this Sunbonnet Sue quilt, made for her granddaughter, and every single block tells its own little story. From tractors to Sunday dresses, each piece carries a different theme—bright, whimsical, and full of personality.

It’s the kind of quilt you can stand in front of for a while, just taking it all in.

When it came time for us to finish it, the goal was simple:
let the piecing and appliqué do all the talking.
