FarmChick Sewing

FarmChick Sewing has been providing alterations and custom sewing in Stuarts Draft, VA since 2016! We mostly specialize in bridal and formal alterations but will take in other clothing as time and work load allows. We also apply patches for motorcycle vests and rank/other insignia for military, LEOs, Fire and Rescue. WHEN TO BOOK: the sooner the better when it comes to weddings! Typically its best

to have your first fitting about 2-3 months before your wedding and at least several weeks before any other formal event ( prom, wedding party members, etc.) Bridal gowns will then have the final fitting/pickup approximately 3 weeks before the wedding date, prom and other dresses are generally ready the week before. We welcome rush jobs but reserve the right to refuse items with less than 10 days until the wear date and there may be additional fees with requests for fast turn around. WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR APPOINTMENT: Our shop is located next to our house, so while you wont have to wander through a strangers house, you will be parking in our driveway. Please ring the bell that's marked for FarmChick Sewing and we will be right with you! The sewing room has a curtained dressing area so you can try on your garment if needed (not needed for patches, pants that you have an inseam measurement for, etc.) Then everything will be written down with prices for each process needed, a second fitting will be discussed, and if you're happy with the work planned you will sign for the work to be done and receive a copy of the contract. Then you're free to go on you way, knowing that we will have the garment ready for you in the time frame we've agreed on! ***please bring the shoes you plan to wear with garments that need hemming so we can get the correct length! Also if you're considering wearing shapewear or anything else, please also bring it to your fitting!***

PRICES: prices depend largely on the construction of the garment and the time and labor involved, so most items need to be seen in person to price accurately. Feel free to send pictures of the garment being worn via either FB messenger or to 540-448-1413 and we can provide a rough estimate. Currently fittings are free, but must be scheduled ahead of time! Book online or if there is not a time available that will work, message or call us and we will find a time that works for you!

We aim to finish your garment to your utmost satisfaction! Please note that in order to do that, all garments MUST be tried on and looked over by you when you come to collect them. If there is something not to your liking at the final fitting, it will be corrected free of charge, in the same day if AT ALL possible! Garments that are not tried on and inspected upon collection and are returned will be subject to a $45 rush fee. Minors must be accompanied by a guardian and if another party is responsible for payment, they also MUST attend fittings. This is to reduce chances of miscommunication and ensure everyone is pleased with the choices made and work completed. We want you to be happy and feel beautiful!
