Congratulations to Shídeezhí Crystalyne Curley. Today she was selected to serve in the role as Speaker of the 25th Navajo Nation Council. We celebrate all the women of the Navajo Nation. The matrilineal lines of hozhò mark this significant, historic day as we welcome our first female Speaker of the Navajo Nation. It was very humbling to see her family surround her as she took her oath of office. May this day inspire all the young ladies of our great nation to know that they can aspire to leadership positions. This is the change that the Diné People wanted. I look forward to working with Madam Speaker Crystalyne Curley. We are thankful to have representation from Central Agency.

Ya’at’eeh and good morning everyone. Yesterday, the newly elected 25th Navajo Nation Council Delegates along with President Buu Nygren and Vice President Rochelle Montoya, School Boards, and Board of Elections and Education took the Oath of Office during the 2023 Navajo Nation Inauguration in Fort Defiance, Ariz.

On behalf of my family and I, we thank the voters of Tselani/Cottonwood, Nazlini, Low Mountain, Blue Gap/Tachee, and Many Farms. I have much work ahead of me and look forward to working with each of you. Have a good and safe today. Ahxéhee’
