Welcome to all who check out my page. I have another tip for you.
If you have a snag in your sweater, or any other garment you may have, DO NOT CUT IT OFF!!!
There are a number of ways to handle it. You want to pull it to the inside of the garment. If you cut it off you may end up with a hole that may continue to come undone.
Use something thin with a tiny hook on the end. Push through the base of the snag from the inside of the garment, hook the snag and pull it through to the inside. It will stay there and not cause any more problems.
If you have more of these happen than you want you may want to invest in a tool made specifically for snags. Its a metal "toothpick" with micro nubs, that grab the snag, on half the tool. It's called a Snag-Nab-It, and you can find it in your local sewing supplies stores.

I have another easy tip for you. It involves zippers.
If you have a zipper that looks like it should work but doesn't want to... The easiest trick is as easy as coloring.
Find either a bar of soap, a candle or a neutral color crayon and rub it against the teeth of the zipper, above and below where the zipper pull is. Then try the pull again. This should get it working if there are no other problems.
If any teeth are out of place or missing, the soap trick won't help, you will need to replace the zipper sorry to say.

Well it certainly has been busy. I'm caught up with some things and behind on others. Getting the last of the alterations done for one job in the next day, should have me caught up again at least with the sewing. lol I have a wonderful nice new customer, and he is sharing my contact info with others.

Keepin' You In Stitches So the one I will share at this time is the handles for pulling up your pants. Belt loops are not handles unfortunately. In time they will pop loose and then you will be looking for someone (like me) to sew them back in place. Hint: I had to test it out first to make sure it would work alright. Grab the waistband and pull to bring the pants back to where they should fit better. Now I'm certainly not trying to drive away any business, but thought some might appreciate this tip.

Keepin' You In Stitches I know I don't comment on here as often as I should. But sometimes I'm not sure what to put on here that would interest, well, anyone. I'm still keeping busy with alterations and other tasks, but while doing some sewing the other day I thought "what about putting some tips/info regarding sewing type info that may be useful to know".

Not as many customers now in this season. But know it will pick up soon. Just had a repeat customer drop off a couple pair of pants to hem. Will have them done tomorrow.

I do alterations and have created many other projects, mostly costumes and some wedding/bridesmaid gowns.

Glad to see so many new views. My apologies for not posting more often.
Have a lot of alterations to do for the cleaners and eight dresses to get done for a delightful customer I have.
I certainly have my work cut out for myself with them and others to get done as well. So time to get busy.

Things have been busy around here. A lot of alterations for the local cleaners. And I have a new wonderful lady I am making dresses for. Almost done with the dresses, Five done and 2 more to go.
