Had to take a moment to share these STUNNING paintings I snagged from Ms. Kathy via Boro Girl Boutique. These feel particularly special because we’ve known Ms. Kathy a looong time - we go all the way back to grade school relationships. But what you may not know is that her journey with art is actually much more recent. She’s self-taught, and watching her talent evolve at such an incredible rate over the last several years has been amazing. I’m continually in awe of how naturally talented she is!

Anyway… as someone who feels most at home in the water and regularly falls asleep to shark documentaries, obviously I had to have him. 😂 Are these not GORGEOUS?!

Thank you, Ms. Kathy, for these two beautiful, inspiring pieces. I’ll treasure them forever. 🤍

You’re not seeing things. We have a new name. 👀

Some of you noticed before I even had a chance to officially say anything, so… yes. Brickhouse is becoming RUDDER.

Over the last year, this little shop has grown into a much clearer vision of what I want it to be - a coastal lifestyle brand inspired by the place we live, the things we love, and the community we’re building here in Swansboro.

That means thoughtfully chosen pieces for life on the coast, more of our own merchandise and original designs, and a brand that feels like it can grow right along with us. RUDDER felt right.

It’s a nod to our coastal roots, our love of being on the water, and the boating culture that is so much a part of our life and the lifestyle here. Also the nautical roots of where we’re located. And maybe most importantly, a rudder gives direction which feels pretty fitting for where we’re headed. Same little shop, people, & place you know and love.

Just a name that feels a whole lot more like us!
