I came across this little picture as an on line puzzle. I just had to stop and do the puzzle. Both my grand mothers had treadle sewing machines and the both quilted. They both made quilts and the one I lost when I was 6 or seven made me a piece apron. I still have it as a special keepsake. My other grand mothers did her best to make all grandkids a quilt if their own. She gave my
Mother the last quilt top she pieced a red, white and blue Texas star.

Quilts are more than just something to keep
You warm. They’re a piece of history. So is the craft of sewing and our nation.

This was my first try at a pen pocket for a journal. I did learn that you the elastic length will depend on the size journal, book or notebook you are using so can’t go by a standard pattern. Also I pinked the edges if the fabric. And didn’t put a seam up the middle so I could bet more pens and pencils in it. ( this one has 3 pens, a mechanical pencil and a highlighter. I made this crate pad out of scraps for our dog Peches. It was the trial run for a pattern for a cooler end (the giant granny square) and the other end the warmest with solid double crochet all the way across. This is for a large creat.

You can either enlarge this picture to use for a pattern if you crochet to make your dog a new rug. Or contact me with your crate size and color choice and I’ll be glad to do you a quote depending on the size you would like.

Many of you have seen my fabric stash (post below) as I start with face mask, button headbands, etc. Well I thought a picture of my thread stash might be interesting also. Let’s all have Faith that with God’s guidance for leaders and all “essential workers” and our world and each and everyone one of you.
