Do you see what I see?

Although my main focus is bridal alterations❤️, I do also work on bridesmaid gowns 🎉 (as well as other womens formalwear). I didn't have the privilege to work on the gown for the bride in this photo, but if you turn your attention to the bridesmaid on the right, you can see a beautifully hemmed bridesmaid dress😍. If you look to the left, you can see a bridesmaid that decided not to hem her gown and had to hold her dress all night...🤷‍♀️

It is not everyday that I have a bride bring in a 1930's vintage gown in small vintage plastic candy bucket. 😲😂😍

It was super fun to have a consultation about possibilities for redoing/stabilizing a vintage gown. I don't know what the bride will choose to do, we will connect later, but this reconstruction/creation project could be very cool. Luckily, this bride is on top of everything and has the next 6 months or so to makes some big decisions and I'm here for whatever she wants to do.

*For projects like this I need 6 months minimum to do them justice.

*a day in the life*

Owning my my own business means I can head into work looking very "cozy." This is why I don't take walk-in appointments at my studio. It's also why if we have a last-minute reschedule, I may or may not look something like this. 😳 🤣
Life happens, weather happens, colds happen. Don't ever hesitate to reach out about needing to reschedule, I do appreciate at least 2 weeks notice, but one I have a bride on my schedule I will do what I can to get you rescheduled 🤞(with-in reason).

Celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary today. Wow ya'll relationships take so much work, but it's been worth everything! I love that I get to share my life with this man and have his support with everything I do. He's been the biggest reason why I'm able to do what I do. Starting my own business last year was terrifying, but he's encouraged me every step of the way ❤️

I love a good before and after. I was privileged to be able to consult and later work with this AMAZING human!  Victoria lived out of state and started her alterations process close to home. After  a lot of conversations and back and forth  with another seamstress, she flew up to visit me over a few days for me to finish up the alterations on her gown.

Connecting with Victoria and her story and being able to complete the alterations she needed to feel confident on her day made me so happy! Getting close to your 1 year Anniversary love, congratulations 🎊 ❤️💐🥂

Alterations:
-adjust rt strap
-in through princess seams, upper center straps, lower bust/ribcage
-bra cups
-x4 sets hook and eyes to back
-hem
-x4 pt bustle
-adjust hips and press
-1 hr beading
-add snaps to detachable veil sleeves/cape/bridal wings

✨️TIP TIME ✨️

Shoes are one of my most favorite things. They can help express yourself and put you in a mood! When you are getting your gown fitted, it is important to bring your shoes with you to EVERY fitting along the way.

A dress, or jumpsuit (what I call leg skirts), can only to be hemmed to 1 height. A comfortable pair of shoes that you can party in, show off your toes, and feel amazing in is key to being able to feel your best on such a huge day.

You may not need your shoes at your 1st alterations appointment if your dress isn't seated properly and needs to be resized, BUT it's better to be safe than sorry.
