* Fashion Designer Gabie Conner has been interested in any form of art and fashion since she was four years old, learning skills (sewing, crocheting, knitting, etc ;) throughout childhood, ultimately obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Design and Marketing in Fashion. Her interest in creating different things from scratch and using a diversity of materials meant for other uses became a trigger to exp
eriment with making items for personal use. In 2004, she found inspiration in crocheting purses out of plastic grocery bags. The fascination of re working and transforming unusual materials, then inspired her to make, even more useful and fashion-oriented items.
* The creation of more products and, to aid in spreading the word of what she was doing to interested groups, also facilitated the need of a more formalized image. Therefore during the beginning of 2009 'Upcycle Way', her first Fashion-Eco project was created based in the power of products made by hand with very few simple tools and no machines involved.
* From there, seminars to children, the creation of 'Upcycle Way Kids Educational Program' for schools, and invitations to participate in fairs and expos began.
* An inherent interest in fine designs and not being confuse with crafts or even simple recycling, fueled a step beyond the aforementioned two, and has been Gabie’s mantra. She is forever trying to share the idea her original and contemporary designs are principled differences towards artistry, wear ability, and reflecting personal tastes.
