I realized that I dont think Ive ever actually made a post talking about who I am and why I started this business.
Guess now is as good of a time as any.
My name is Onyx and I am a 40 year old parent of 2 amazing kids. I am a profoundly Deaf, Chronically ill, neurodivergent, non-binary small business owner who originally started this business in 2022 under a different name (Chronically Chaotic Designs), however after leaving an abusive relationship in 2024…I decided it was time for a fresh start with my business.
Changed the name, changed the direction a little…hell, even changed my legal name and did an uno reverse on my life and my business.
In early 2025, I went public with my new business by starting out at Tampa pride, handing out Pride bracelets during the parade while walking with some amazing and beautiful souls. I took some small orders here and there from friends and family. This year, I did a vendor show with another very talented crafter Nicky Renee Calhoun out in Texas and we had a blast
✨ON TO THE WHY✨
I have been sewing since i was 6. My late Aunt started teaching me when i was little and I have always picked up random things to learn (because as a neurodivergent, we cant have 1 project…we have to have 284297429). I love making things for the people i love and after a bunch of my friends and family told me “you need to start selling these…these are beautiful!” I decided to give it a shot
