Farewell, but never goodbye, Woodsmoke.

Among the many blessings that came from our recent gatherings in New Mexico was watching Woodsmoke find her forever muse.

There is something wonderfully enduring about this long duster. Woodsmoke begins with the familiar language of classic style, the long, graceful line of a timeless coat, the warmth of earthy neutrals, the kind of silhouette a woman could reach for year after year after year.

And then, as only SuKaz would, she takes that familiarity somewhere entirely unexpected.

Contrasting shades of richly patterned poly suede bring depth and movement to her etched paisley and blooming roses. Inside, a wash of silk charmeuse satin reveals flowers against the softest peach. And down the back, an original ribbonwork art panel by emerges like a secret garden, an exquisite little interruption of color, handwork and joy.

That is the beauty of Woodsmoke.

She feels established, but never conventional.
Timeless, but never predictable.
Classic, but unmistakably modern.

She will never become another coat in the closet. She is the kind of piece a woman can live with for decades, wearing her differently through changing seasons and changing years, while the jacket herself remains entirely beyond trend.

We have wondered for some time who Woodsmoke would eventually belong to.

Now we know she has found her.

And perhaps one day, somewhere down the road, we will be lucky enough to see a photograph of her being worn and loved by the woman who chose her. There is something especially sweet about seeing these pieces begin the part of their story that belongs entirely to someone else.

So, farewell, beautiful Woodsmoke.

Never goodbye.

Your story simply continues with her.

Where the dream begins and the story ends with you.

Farewell, but never goodbye, to Sari Serenade.

There are certain pieces that carry something almost intangible within them, a sense that every choice, every layer, every hand that touched them mattered. Sari Serenade, from our Velvet and Sari Collection, has always been one of those pieces.

And she has now found her forever muse.

One of Susan’s especially treasured designs, Sari Serenade is a study in unlikely beauty: handwoven silken velvet in yellow gold and silver meeting an original hand-loomed Gadwal sari from the Hyderabad region of India, its violet and gold florals unfolding against a field of black. A flash of brilliant canary-yellow silk charmeuse lies within, while rich red velvet provides the final punctuation.

And then there is the back, an extraordinary ribbonwork art panel by Mirela Viregan, creating another story entirely.

Perhaps that is what makes Sari Serenade so compelling. There is nuance upon nuance here. Texture upon texture. A story discovered slowly rather than all at once.

Now she begins another story.

And wherever her new muse wears her, we suspect there will be no disappearing quietly into a room. Sari Serenade is a showstopper. She will be noticed. And she will be remembered.

Farewell, beautiful girl. Never goodbye.

FAREWELL, BUT NEVER GOODBYE — FASHION’S SPIRIT

Some jackets find their forever muse and leave us with a smile.

And then there are the ones that are a little harder to let go.

Fashion’s Spirit is one of those for me.

There is something extraordinary about this long kimono, something that goes beyond its beautiful blues and golds, its intricate embroidery, its beading, its texture and color.

At its heart is the remarkable handwork of artisans in India. The fabric carries the evidence of human hands everywhere you look, threading, beadwork, patchwork, raised embroidery and embellishment, each detail created slowly and deliberately.

This is why we call these our Spirit pieces.

Because when something is made by hand, a little of the spirit of the person who created it remains within the work. You can see it in the irregularities. You can feel it in the detail. And in Fashion’s Spirit, there is so very much to behold.

Its art panel, created by Indian textile designer Suneetha/Bhaavana, continues that story through embroidery, appliqué, beadwork and figure sculpting—another layer of artistry within an already remarkable piece.

We have been especially attached to this jacket, always will be.

Fashion’s Spirit is one of those SuKaz pieces we will remember years from now, and imagine others will remember, too. Once you’ve seen her, she is difficult to forget.

And now, somewhere, she has found the woman who gets to call her own.

To the forever muse of Fashion’s Spirit: you have found a treasure. Wear her, enjoy her, study all those wonderful little details, and know how many hands, how much artistry, and how much spirit came together to create her.

Farewell, beautiful Fashion’s Spirit.

But never goodbye. 🤍

Farewell, but never goodbye, sweet Double Birdie.

There is something wonderfully joyful about seeing a SuKaz piece find the woman for whom it somehow seems to have been waiting.

Double Birdie, our Short Kimono Style, has found her forever muse.

A beautiful conversation of color, textile and handwork, Double Birdie brings together hand-loomed Turkish silk velvet in a geometric ikat of deep blue and rose with a Gadwal silk sari hand loomed in Hyderabad, India. Soft lavender, pale blues and greens move through the piece, while the richly patterned velvet gives it depth and character.

And then there are those wonderful art panels, original creations by Indian textile designer Suneetha/Bhaavana, intricately brought to life through embroidery, passementerie and figure sculpting. Little discoveries tucked into a jacket already full of them.

She is unusual yet timeless. Beautifully crafted, wonderfully individual, and with that easy Short Kimono silhouette, a piece meant not simply to be admired, but to be worn and enjoyed.

We can already imagine the adventures ahead.

To Double Birdie’s forever muse: we are so delighted that you found one another. May she bring beauty, joy and just a little bit of whimsy wherever the two of you go.

So today we say farewell to our sweet Double Birdie, but never goodbye.

Her SuKaz story simply continues with you.

Farewell, but never goodbye.

BRANDED has found her forever muse.

Some jackets are especially difficult to release.

BRANDED is one of those.

A long kimono silhouette wrapped in warm, earthen shades of poly suede, her surface is traced with etched paisley and blooming roses, then made unmistakably SuKaz through hand-embroidered topstitching by Susan Hollingsworth.

And within, another story waits, a silk lining alive with cascading spirals against turquoise chevrons.

But perhaps her most beautiful secret is carried down her back: an original art panel by Corina Matei, where origami velvet roses bloom in autumnal shades of sapphire, ruby and nutmeg, touched with faceted golden beads.

So much handwork.
So much story.
So many marks left intentionally.

And now BRANDED belongs to the woman who saw something of herself in her.

That is the beautiful thing about a SuKaz jacket. We may say farewell when it leaves us, but the story doesn’t end here. It simply passes from the hands that created it into the life of the woman who will wear it, treasure it, and make it entirely her own.

Collected from the World. Crafted into One.

Farewell, BRANDED.
But never goodbye.

Where the dream begins and the story ends with you.

“Blue-tiful” Sold

Farewell, but never goodbye. Blue-tiful has found its place.

There are certain pieces that seem destined to become more than something worn. They become part of a story collected, treasured, and kept because there simply will never be another.

With its sweeping length, sculptural ruched sleeves and extraordinary expression in denim, Blue-tiful has always lived somewhere between fashion and art. And now, this one-of-one SuKaz creation has found the place where it belongs.

We say farewell with tremendous gratitude, knowing that Blue-tiful will be valued for exactly what it was created to be: a work of art made by human hands.Collected from the World. Crafted into One.

Farewell, Blue-tiful. But never goodbye.

Each SuKaz jacket tells a story, right down to the final detail.

These are not ordinary buttons. They are individually handcrafted, fire-kilned glass works of art, created exclusively for SuKaz by glass artist Carol Christensen-Day of Glassy Fields.

Each button is formed by hand, kiln-fired, and finished one at a time. No molds. No mass production. No two are ever exactly alike.

At SuKaz, we believe every element of a garment should be worthy of collecting. From the hand-selected textiles to the wearable art and now these extraordinary glass buttons, every detail is created by human hands with intention, artistry, and care.

Because true luxury isn’t manufactured.
It’s handcrafted.

07/17/2026

True luxury isn’t reserved for special occasions.

It’s found in the quiet confidence of wearing something extraordinary as though it were the most natural choice in the world.

The SuKaz collector doesn’t save art for later. She lives with it. She surrounds herself with beauty, seeks out the uncommon, and understands that craftsmanship belongs in everyday life, not hidden away in a closet.

Each jacket is a one-of-a-kind expression, created by human hands and collected from artists around the world, waiting for the woman who will complete its story.

Collectors, not consumers.

Bloomin’ Bedecked

Some jackets make a statement.

Others tell a story that unfolds slowly.

Bloomin’ Bedecked is one of those rare pieces that reveals itself over time. Layers of embroidered and embellished fabric create a landscape of texture and light, much like standing in the middle of a field of wildflowers. The more you look, the more you discover. Every thread, every bloom, every subtle detail invites you to linger just a little longer.

There is something wonderfully familiar about this jacket. It carries the quiet comfort of memories we can’t always explain, sunlight spilling across a meadow, childhood afternoons outdoors, the peace that comes from simply being surrounded by beauty. It is both an escape and a homecoming.

Its collector will understand that true luxury isn’t always about being noticed. Sometimes it is about living with something that continues to inspire you every time you wear it. A piece that offers new discoveries years after it first becomes yours. A piece that feels as comforting as it is extraordinary.

This is wearable art created not only to be admired, but to be lived in, cherished, and ultimately collected.

Because some journeys don’t take us somewhere new.

They bring us home.

Ying and Yang

Some women don’t collect beautiful things because they’re special.

They collect them because beauty is simply how they choose to live.

Ying and Yang was created for the woman who has never been interested in following the crowd. She trusts her own eye. She is drawn to craftsmanship over trends, originality over imitation, and pieces that reveal something new every time she wears them.

She doesn’t save wearable art for an occasion.

She wears it to lunch.
To a gallery.
To dinner with friends.
To the places that make up an ordinary Tuesday.

Because to her, surrounding herself with exceptional craftsmanship isn’t an event, it is simply the rhythm of her life.

Handcrafted from silk velvet dévoré layered over silky dupioni, and finished with an original embroidered art panel by Indian textile artists Suneetha and Bhaavana, Ying and Yang celebrates the harmony of contrast, strength and softness, structure and movement, quiet confidence and joyful individuality.

Perhaps somewhere, the woman this jacket was created for will see it.

And she’ll recognize it immediately.

Some collections aren’t chosen.

They find one another.
